  1. About the direct to MOT, how would they prove? How far out would you have to be? Not saying you are wrong as I know that is the law but it does get you wondering, should you book in with your nearest centre, otherwise you are on the road for longer than you need? Also after I get mine MOT'ed I take the scenic route home which is longer than the main road route ( which I take just in case) but it isn't taxed at this point. Again, how far out do you need to be to be for them to say you are not dirextly going to the station/home? Sorry - like to play devils advocate at times! Rich
  2. Another free one is Waze. Has all cameras on there and new ones are added by users. Routes can be a bit random but its always upto date as if its not you report an issue. I have used for 2 years on sales (60k miles). Also you can choose a bike as your icon Rich
  3. They aren't small cars! I had a Suzuki Cappucino for 5 years, fully modified it in the time I owned it too. Loved that car and can safely say the fastest car around corners I have ever driven - go cart on wheels. However 2 seats only and the smallest boot in the world meant it had to go. Pic here hopefully... http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/23/c528e94614a78e28739e1c6b2a4de824.jpg
  4. Did they say anything like that on the form.... if not then are they legally allowed to do that? If a person stumbled on the link and put in there details they have done nothing wrong. Guessing they will delete data gathered from non invited participants.... Rich
  5. Hi - Just a few questions... Do you drive? If so the hazard perception should be a breeze but definately practice. I used a book and CD for the test and it was ok but nerve wracking. Why do you want to go the 125 route? If you have never driven then I can see that as your hazard perception would be lower. However if you have driven and are sensible (think would you see how fast your first bike could go straight away, if yes not sensible!) you would be better to do the DAS and get a big bike. They are easier to ride and the L plate is a target. Don't forget once you pass your test you can go and buy a hayabusa so they have high standards. Just my opinion. If you don't trust yourself then do the 125 route but I would be asking why are looking at bikes anyway if not sensible Good luck in whatever you decide. Rich
  6. All mine I can remember... E565EBC - Fiesta mk 2 K901BVV - Golf mk 3 M507VRB - Suzuki Cappucino AK61RJV - VW Passat T836CNN - Suzuki SV650S I have many stories about all the above so always remember them. Rich
  7. Hi guys. My wife is a lab manager for a well known opticians so here is my take. If you don't get on with the varifocals take them back and tell them. They should let you go to bifocal or get 2 different pairs and refund etc. Some people just don't get on with them and my wife's company did this as often as needed. The pound shop glassss are fine for small time frames but no good for you needing them on for more than 20 to 30 mins. As said before, the strength is the same is both lenses but also the pupil distance is not specific to the person. This induces prism which can cause eye strain, headaches and the like. As for online spec makers, you do it at your own risk . Most opticians will not give your pupil distance with a prescription as they are not then resposible for the glasses you get from a different company. As above the pupil distance is very important for prism etc and as well as headaches, if you use for driving they could be dangerous. Think of it this way, would you buy a helmet online without ever trying the model on? The eyes are probably the most important sense to someone and putting in the hands of people with incomplete information is asking for trouble imo. If you can get a professional to do your pupil distance then all should be fine. However bear in mind my wife had to sign every pair of glasses off to the prescription and this is legally binding. If someone was in a car accident and the glasses weren't right she would end up in court. Not sure if the online guys would be as stringent. Basically get your glasses from a reputable optician Rich
