  1. Hi all, Just wanted to gather thoughts from other on this. I find chain adjustment a little subjective and find I can influence the slack of the chain depending on if first pull down the chain to start measurement or start from the droop position, as well as how much force I apply. I know the manual might tell you basically how to do it but mine (cbr600f) doesn't specify how much force to apply when meauring the chain slack (also who actually uses a force meter to do this?) I just try to aim for the middle and hope that right. Thanks all
  2. Shortest college project ever?
  3. Hi all, I saw this sign posted on my way the Knebworth House over the weekend. Hope to try and make it as I am also cambs area.
  4. Good things: - Communication and nodding to other motorcycists. - The feeling of being at one with the road and machine. - It's Economical way to travel, a bit annoying me when I see one driver in a 400litre truck/4x4/showoff-mobile. The list goes on...
  5. As long as they are sorting it for you that's the main thing, hope they are treating you well about it?
  6. Moving on from the cbr125r it's what I expected it to be, and soooooo much more
  7. What sort of roads will you be on? Any reason why it has to be that particular 125?
  8. I agree with this. If you are new to motorcycling no need to rush it all (unless you need to of course). A lot of schools will try to fit and book everything all at once (even try to do your Mod 1 and 2 on the same day sometimes). So if you fail Mod 1 you lose your Mod 2 slot (and money). Some people would be fine doing it this way, but some take longer to learn, etc.
  9. Ah nice, I saw this one on ebay (sold by a dealer in Yorkshire right?). Enjoy.
  10. Hi all, Are there any official / unofficial meetups and biker hubs in Cambridge / Cambridgeshire? Thanks.
  11. I haven't read all the posts, but looks on surface there are some excellent responses there. Think about the sort of person you are, are you sensible, do you take lots of risks, what's you thoughts on other road users? Think about what you need to mode of transportation for? Is it just for fun? If so, bikes are not as much fun in the rain, heavy winds, winter. Do you want to options to carry passengers? Have you got space for it? I would say if you are feeling unsure, do a CBT and you will very quickly decide if this is something you want to pursue or if this is something that isn't for you. At that point you have little to lose. Bikes are covered by the training school and you will come out of it with a CBT!
  12. Some great posts and advice here. I would add, learn to counter steer.
  13. Hi all, Few mods I am considering for my cbr600f 2002: 1) Pillion seat cover. It has the banana seat. But just a cover so I have the option to remove the cover and reveal the pillion seat. Like in the image below. 2) slip on exhaust Any suggestions are appreciated Also any other mods suggestions are welcomed. Thanks
