  1. Passed my mod 2, second attempt, first time round got caught out by traffic stopping short on a right turn and ended up stopped on a pedestrian crossing. Oh well passed this time. The weather was awful, pouring rain but no minors - perhaps he couldn't see anything either! Bike shopping now.......yesssssss:)
  2. JWat -my wife fell over a couple of times during her mod1 training. Tore the ligaments in her hand on one of them. She stuck at it and passed, now she is out on her Hornet 600. So just stick with it, some people take longer than others thats all. Got my first mod1 lesson today myself.........oooer!
  3. Neither my parents or in laws were happy... Dangerous etc. What made me laugh was that my wife and i used to do off road motor racing for about 20 years so you would have thought they would be pleased we were doing something safer!
  4. Have been to both and am going again this year. Both very different. Revival if you are into classics and racing. Festival if just a petrolhead. I love both.
  5. I have the same problem. My wife recently passed her mod 2 and told me that her instructor told her you must always put down your left on the tests. I seem to naturally put down my right, but got to break the habit I guess if I want to pass. Once I have done that I can learn to ride a bike rather than how to pass the tests !
  6. As above, nice pair of summer gloves, I cannot get on with thick ones, hopefully by the time it gets cold you will have a lot more experience.
  7. I would just like to know who makes good boots. Just got first pair of boots. Nice and comfy, worn them a fair bit to break them in but just cannot get on with them on the bike. Have to think about every gear change, never missed so many changes and to be honest its dangerous! They are just too big and stiff with no feel. Because they are so big there needs to be a lot of up and down movement if that makes sense. £140 down the pan it looks like as have stopped wearing them now as was no longer enjoying the ride. Only hope is they may be ok once i am off a 125.
  8. Def worth a look. Got a very similar ybr not long back. Same age and milage. Been very pleased with it. Has had a chain and sproket, fork seals and clutch is a little worn so check those. Put over 1000 miles on it now. Also practicing for my direct access so had the same decision to make.
  9. Washing up liquid, mix it up nice and stong. Work it in with a broom and just hose it off. Works and cheapest option.
  10. Personally if I am driving I don't drink, and if driving the following morning only a few pints. I have alwaysfelt that even if only had one pint and then had a accident would my reactions have been that split second quicker if I had not had a drink? You are never going to stop the people who totally abuse it though. The only answer would be a lot more spot checks, but even then there will be some who would risk it.
  11. Classic cars, I have a Triumph Stag and my wife drives a old Mini Cooper. She is into bikes as well.
