  1. Got a Sena, which I like, but the only problem is I'm getting deafer as the years pass and the ear pieces for the Sena just stick inside the helmet, leaving lots of room for other noise to get in. Has anyone ever cut this off and managed to attach to a set of moulded earphones? (or just regular earphones)
  2. Embarking on my first European tour next week - could be a bit of a baptism of fire as I've not been riding that long but no better way to get some serious miles under my belt. Got all my documents and cover sorted so now just waiting for the off. Starting off from Manchester and getting the ferry from Hull to Europort then a long drive to Heidelberg in Germany (hopefully in time to see the champions league final). From there to the Furka pass the back up through France and Belgium and back on the ferry to hull - 5 nights for the lot. Anyone else off on an adventure this summer?
  3. Thanks chaps....I'll give the ebc ones a try...got to be better than the ones I have
  4. About time to replace the pads on the bike (MOT due next month) - got Tokico calipers so I'm assuming the pads are the same make. Will brembo pads fit these calipers? and is there actually any point spending more on better pads? (bike kawasaki z750s 05) ta
  5. Just video and still image capture and a decent memory. ..although most of them have memory cards anyway so that's not too much of an issue
  6. Anyone got any advice on what the best bike/action camera is? Was looking at the ContourRoam but I heard they went out of business and are not supported anymore. Any recommendations of others?
  7. Hi folks, Anyone know where can get a custom or single seat cowl for a Kawasaki Z750s 06? I want to replace the rider and pillion seat on mine for a shorter single seat version as I don't have any need for the pillion seat but I can't seem to find anywhere that does them. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks William
  8. Just bought my first 'big' bike - Kawasaki z750s which has been semi-converted to a street fighter so there's a few bits I can play with to my hand dirty. I must say, regardless of how the bike ranks in the big scheme of things, I love it!!! Anyway, I could probably find this out from the owners manual but it's more fun coming on here..... What's the best engine oil to use? Cheers
  9. Hi folks, I'm looking for a bit of guidance on where to start with a Harley FB conversion/restoration. I want to either convert a 'standard' Harley into a FB or find a cheap FB that I can do up...I guess my two questions are: What type of Harley can I convert into at fatboy? I'm guessing there's only specific models that will convert 'easily'? Is there a specific place/wesbite that's good for picking up cheap Harleys? I know that Harleys don't come cheap compared to other bikes but you know what I mean. This project is going to be a bit of a labour of love....not something I expect to be done over night...more something that'll i'll do over the next 2-3 years whilst I have a day to day bike to play around on. Any help, experience, advice would be really great. ta
  10. So - the never ending project continues. Bought a beat-up rs 125 (year 2000) as a 'fixer-upper', which I'm enjoying but without a garage, little time and a 4 year old it's hard work!! Anyway - so far I've: Welded up the mount for the side stand (so I can stand the thing up now) Full service Tuned carb De-restricted Sorted potentially dangerous foot pegs Fixed speedo New tyres In the middle of changing all the fairings which is proving challenging as nothing fits as it should so some modifications are required. Left to do is: Replace clutch cable and adjust clutch Replace rose joint on gear change linkage Re-fit rear light Finish fairings What I'd like to do before I finish fit the fairings is get the digital dash working. I've checked all the wiring and it looked sound - everything connected where it should be but I need to check/change the fuse so my questions are: What amp fuse do I need? What else can I check if that doesn't work (all other electrics working fine)? As ever, thanks in advance for any advice.
  11. Cheers chaps - just ordered a new clutch cable and the clutch 'Tool' so all will be well soon. On a slightly different note....passed my mod 2 a couple of weeks ago.....did about 10 hours on a 600 and didnt touch the 125 because it was in having some work done. Got it back yesterday and it's amazingly light, so much so you can almost pick it up and throw it round corners which is great. The negative is that it's sooo boggy in the low revs!! If you're turning right into a road from a standing start and slightly misjudge the revs it bogs and you're almost stranded on the wrong side of the road!! I'll get used to it but nearly got myself in some sticky situations yesterday. Also - I'm up and down the gearbox every like no ones business...if you're not in the power band you're knackered.....GSXR 600/750 needs to be bought soon
  12. Hi folks, Just wondering what the quickest way is to change to biting point of the clutch on a rs 125 (year 2000)? The adjustment on the clutch handle itself is as far out as it'll go but the biting point is still only when the handle is almost fully released. I hope it's just that the cable has stretched over time. Ta William
  13. Thanks chaps - I guess it's a no goer for me at the moment - I have limited space to be able to do any work and given the effort it's probably just worth trading in for a different bike at some point. Have to try and get the most out of the 125 with a little bit of tuning here and there
  14. That's a shame - the extra power would come in handy but you make a valid point about insurance as well.
