  1. Well done on your pass. Your examiner sounds as though he is a bit lacking in social skills! However I think he was probably trying to say that passing doesn't mean you don't need to continue to improve and become more proficient and learn how to be safe. As a very new biker myself I know that I feel much more of a beginner on my motorbike than I did when I passed my car test many years ago. Its clear to me that I need to gain experience but I will also do some advanced training to learn how to protect myself and be as safe as possible. Don't let it worry you , you have met the required standard and now you can start to really learn how to ride, and have some fun.
  2. Welcome, from another newbie Bikes look great.
  3. I feel for you but .... unfortunately you have to jump through these hoops to get a full unrestricted licence and there is no other way. Young MissBex (25) and old me (55) both had some failures along the way but we got there in the end, try and relax you can do it. I will be waiting to add my non colourful congratulations to MissBex's
  4. Well done its a nice feeling isn't it. Best bit for me was riding back to training school after the test without having a radio so I couldn't hear my instructor nagging me
  5. Tnx MissBex, I think it was the words Second Test that did it for me, I was nervous this time but I wasn't on the first one ! Now to get some gear and a bike !
  6. Yes it was a lot but I wasn't riding well yesterday, 4 were for Balance slow control (wobbly on slow right turns), 2 for clearance obstructions (slightly too close to parked cars in empty residential streets, 2 for positioning (to far right on Dual Carriageway) and 1 for judgement meeting. I didn't get any for observation which is what I failed on last time. It was a different examiner (allegedly "harder") I think they probably make an overall judgement on Pass/Fail and what is dangerous or otherwise and if the minors don't add up to being unsafe or dangerous you can still pass.
  7. Passed my Mod 2 today, I thought I was worse than my first one and I got 9 minors, for some reason I was very nervous and made a few basic control errors. Still its all behind me now. Time to find a bike which will be my next post in the forum....
  8. Thanks Bex I have already rebooked. I will keep plodding on until I pass hope you get your Mod 2 sorted soon. Wonder if they really check if you have waited 10 days since last test?
  9. Fist attempt at Mod 2 today and it was a fail, examiner said my lifesavers were not good enough. On the Riding test report I have 1 tick against "Move Away Safely", 1 against "Signals Correctly" and 1 against "Positioning normal riding" but 5 ticks against "Rear Observation Change Direction" with the S column also marked. I assume that this means that the number of observation minors is so high that its a Safety fail? I was not surprised to fail and I knew I had missed one indication and a couple of lifesavers but I really though I had done most OK. Obviously I need to work on my rear observation. I will go through this fully with my instructor but does anyone know any good tips that I can use to make sure I don't make this mistake next time? I haven't been able to find any good videos showing how to do it properly !
