  1. Zipties is the way to go lol http://i.imgur.com/sCFuPhK.jpg
  2. So im turning 18 years old tomorrow and have been very interested in doing track days, not racing just enjoying speed on the track rather than me riding like a twat on the roads. Now after looking at a few tracks and requirments it says i need a full unrestricted licence, which is not possible since i am on a A1 and cant go higher till 19/21 :/ Then i found alot of tracks accept acu licence. Could someone please explain to me what acu licence allows me to do, Like will i be allowed to ride a 500cc on a track? What am i restricted to? I found the form on the acu website but its rather confusing, specifically section one. which parts do i tick? http://www.acu.org.uk/Uploaded/1/Docume ... 20Form.pdf
  3. So on thursday my daelim roadwin r 125 broke down in st.Albans area, had to get towed back to heathrow. Bike just cut out at a traffic light, wouldn't start waited 5 mins then it started again. Rode for about a minute then it cut out again and the rear wheel locked up, I quickly pulled the clutch in and rolled to a stop. Bike simply won't turn over, tried push starting. Note I had been riding 7 hours in pissing down rain. The electrics still seem to work e.g the dash, lights, heated grips. The breakdown guy thought the engine may have seized so i tried some trouble shooting. I put it into its top gear and tried to turn the wheel, I was able to do this. I then tried turning the crankshaft with a socket and it turned. Originally this was the sound i was getting when i hit the ignition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwcjR2yKBYE When i turned the crankshaft and hit the ignition at the sametime this was the sound i was getting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLvRaT41ie0 now the starter magnetic switch (i think thats what its called) Is making a very weird noise and is vibrating quite alot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXrE4h2D91U Is it possible that its the magnetic thing is faulty and not providing enough power to the engine, because there was a few times where for a split second i would have a sudden loss of power. Which was the same thing that would happen when i had my old dodgy battery, when it died i would have to keep push starting it till it had enough power to keep the engine going. (took like an hour)
  4. Purchased this helmet yesterday, Very nice helmet, very impressed. Also came with a anti fog thing which they fitted for me at the store which surprised me i dont have to keep lifting the visor up to breath at traffic lights btw its agv not avg
  5. How long do these items stay on sale for? is it just for the one day?
  6. Today i went to start my bike and it wouldnt, sounded like it was dying. I do courier work on my motorcycle, After working all morning i came home for a 30 minute break. After i went to start my bike back up, the lights on dial turn on etc, pressed ignition. it tried to start the engine then stopped. Tried again and it was just making a quite noise, sounded like it was coming from the battery area. The lights on the dials also dimmed and flickered when i tried the ignition. After it just would start, kept making the quite noise. had to call into work and cancel my jobs :/ About 2 hours later i went to try again and it started fine, I went for a quick ride, stopped engine and started fine. Is this a sign that my battery is dieing? luckily this happened at home and not when i was on the opposite side of london.
  7. L plates don't help there, to an insurer you are an unqualified learner, planning to rack up epic mileages in all conditions. Your employer may check/insist on the correct insurance. If they don't and you are not wearing any kind of uniform you could chance it on normal insurance but if caught by old bill your bike may be squashed. You definitely want goods in transit insurance that covers you against losing or damaging whatever you are carrying, without that you lose some small parcel that turns out to be a £99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 piece of unobtanium you are screwed. Though check if the employer provides any of this (I doubt they do though as you are using your own bike I'm guessing you are "self employed"). Like I said though send Marmalade43 a message he can give you actual good advice and may be able to point you toward the best places to get insured, etc. I spoke to an a VERY helpfull person over the phone, originally the quote he recieve was around 3k which he also thought was a stupid price, he was then able to have it brought down to 1.1k massive drop in price. he changed it to courier/food delivery driver and added the food delivery driver to my part time job and it dropped dramatically. Very happy paying only £136 a month.
  8. I guess it would be a good idea to just pick up a cheap one for work. I have just been looking at some insurance quotes and WOW i was not expecting it to cost so much, around 3k for courier insurance. just so i can carry some items in a backpack/top box. its like quadruple what i pay at the moment.
  9. Thank you for your advice, Your solution LOL good idea but i sadly can not do it, The company ill be working for do regular inspections on your bike to make sue its representable and mainly just to make sure your not driving a rust bucket around. i dont know why but i really hate scooters and that c90 is not much better. I know it would be the most practical option but i cant just cant imagine me riding one.
  10. Im considering just getting a large back pack for now, 30l similar size to most of the top boxes. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oxford-RT30R- ... 7506&rt=nc at the end of the month when i get paid i was planning to buy a new bike, possibly the new shape honda cbr 125 and then i can also get a top box for that.
  11. So today i got accepted to do a part time courier job, But before i can start i will need to buy a top box for my bike. Are the two things under the back seat for mounting the top box? What kind of top box mounting would i need for my bike? Please any help would be great! http://i.imgur.com/uVGVV8P.jpg
  12. i replaced the rusty thing in the pic with this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351170327173? ... EBIDX%3AIT
  13. not sure what that means, i wanna shorten the part in the second and third pic.
  14. ive just had the replace the sleeve and clamp with a stainless steel since the one the previous owner put on it is a piece of junk and was not even sealing it. now i would like to use a hanging strap around the exhaust to the original mounting hole under the passenger foot peg and get rid of the one which is connected to the passenger hand rail. But the exhaust is sticking out to much so im not able to so im wondering if i can shorten some of exhaust pipe. http://i.imgur.com/Ps5sth7.jpg http://s28.postimg.org/4g8o4zkil/DSC_1824.jpg http://s3.postimg.org/5z20osszn/DSC_1801.jpg
  15. Print out the wiring diagram to help identify the correct colours etc and get yourself a crimping tool and connectors to reconnect the wires to whatever headlight unit you to choose to fit. If it were me, I'd leave the existing one in place and get it working before I thought about replacing it and adding to the problem. You need something like this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Crimping-Tool-Set-Wire-Stripper-Cutter-Connectors-Cable-Ties-Pillers-Crimper-/350737187248 and suitable connectors i have got the current one working, but its a cheap tacky headlight and it dosnt even fit on the brackets properly, the previous owner cracked a part of the headlight forcing it to fit :/ just need to replace it now.
