  1. At work we use agency staff to cover holidays and illness, my colleague was working with an agency staff member last week (not sure where he was from originally) and he asked her if she would be voting in or out. When she replied that she was uncertain, he stated that he hoped it would be a vote to stay in so that he could get all his family and friends to come here. Another reason I believe to vote out?
  2. Judging by the amount of video's on Youtube showing how to pick locks including disk locks and padlocks of various types, it seems to me that the only way to guarantee not to have your bike stolen is not to buy one in the first place. Because no matter how good and theft proof the lock and chain are supposed to be, someone will find a way of removing it. Sure the average bike thief will think twice when confronted with a bike that is locked via a ground anchor and multiple chains and padlocks, but it won't phase a professional who is stealing to order. And you would be suprised at how blind peope can become when confronted by a gang trying to steal something.
  3. I sometimes drop down a gear or two when going uphill, and I have got a 1000cc bike!! So why not do it on a 125? Edit. In fact I can't think of one mode of transport where the need to drop down a gear isn't required at times From max revs (limited - see OPs comment) in 4th - drop down two gears and....... Pick yourself up. Pick the bike up and check for damage. Replace rear tyre, chain, sprockets and trousers! It depends on the gradient of the hill. Picture this, you are going up a hill in bottom gear (4th, 5th, 6th. Whatever) and the revs start dropping along with your top speed. Drop down a gear and as if by magic the revs start to rise again and so does your speed, this carries on untill you either reach the summit or run out of gears in which case you come to a stop. Simples!!
  4. Not sure if it still applies, but going back many years you could still be done for not having road tax on your vehicle even though you had booked it in for it's MOT.
  5. As with most things, its only as good as the person using it. Never had any problems using 'Instant Gasket (silicone)'; Red or Blue Hermatite. I have also cut my own gaskets from both Cork sheets and sheets of 'greasproof' paper / oil paper. Me neither have used them all in the past, but not on carbs though.
  6. You could just paint them whilst they are still attached to the bike, but you would make a far better job of it if you could remove the calipers first.
  7. yes ... interesting concept on a 125 .. hopefully OP will let us know how he gets on with that one I sometimes drop down a gear or two when going uphill, and I have got a 1000cc bike!! So why not do it on a 125? Edit. In fact I can't think of one mode of transport where the need to drop down a gear isn't required at times
  8. Honda in their infinite wisdom my have changed the size of the sprockets on the later bike, that could be the reason why the year is listed along with the chain size? You will be better off trying to get one that corresponds with the year your bike was built. I am sure there are plenty available on the 'net The one you are looking at is out of stock??
  9. When it's running sluggish try dropping down a gear or two, to give it a boost.
  10. Loved watching the program, R.I.P Dan
  11. I think it comes down to how the helmet is treated over the years it is owned, plus the materials it is made of. The various materials used in their construction do break down over time and crash helmet cost has also got to play a part, I wouldn't expect a helmet costing 20 odd pounds to last as long as one costing two or three hundred pounds or more.
  12. Just been announced on the radio that David Bowie has died after an 18 month battle with cancer, sad news!!
  13. Had to get a spare key cut a while ago for my Kawasaki GPZ1100 but the local Timson type place didn't stock the blanks so had to buy one off Ebay, they then cut it no problem.
  14. This might help you choose Stu, http://www.derbyshireuk.net/townsandvillages.html
