  1. I just leave clothes in the office and get changed when I get there, is that not an option?
  2. I bought some cheap Richa waterproof overs which I wear over my textile jacket and Kevlar jeans. I just can't justify £600 for a waterproof textile jacket and pair of trousers, which seems to be the going rate for all in one clothing that is actually waterproof.
  3. I bought some as my first pair and the left one leaked too!
  4. I bought a textile jacket that was comfortable and just a cheap Spada waterproof over jacket for the rain that I keep in the top box. I commute over an hour each way to work each day and have done that in the pouring rain and the Spada didn't let a drop in, great little purchase that was. Got Richa over trousers too to go over my Kevlar jeans which were £16 and equally as good.
  5. Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna get myself a rear paddock stand so I can do all this myself, when I lube the chain I can only get at one side so the paddock stand will really help. I'll look up that Varadero site too.
  6. Afternoon guys, I ride about 400 miles a week on my Varadero 125 and had a new chain fitted as the old one was stretched, I wasn't told to oil it and after about 1000 miles it looked saggy so I took it back to the garage who then told me I should have oiled it regularly! Had it tightened and have been oiling it every other day (160 miles covered in that time) and the chain is still stretching. Is it a case of I should be oiling it daily, or adjusting it more often? This is my first bike so I'm really not sure what the process is, I've looked at paddock stands so I can adjust it myself as I'm assuming it's a relatively easy job?
  7. I bought some Aldi ones for £30 and the left one leaks.
  8. I need to get myself a waterproof over jacket, the trouble I have is that I have a 52 inch chest and a 34 inch waist and I'm 5ft 9. What is the sizing like on this kit? It looks like I'll have to get a XXXL to fit my chest but the arms will be stupidly long!
  9. So after getting knocked off today and the cvnt driving off I'm thinking about getting a camera for my lid but don't want to spend and arm and a leg. What sort of money am I looking at for something that isn't gonna fall off? I'm not looking to use it for anything other than my commute, I'm not a hobby sports bike rider looking to film track days etc I just ride my bike to and from work.
  10. Being overweight isn't genetic, it's caused by eating too much, fat parents generally have fat kids because they pick up their eating habits. Unless you have an under active thyroid issue, which can be stabilised by using medication, then there is no excuse to be fat, it's just caused by being greedy and eating too much.
  11. If you want to lose weight just eat less, you could go running but cardio vascular training is better for fitness than weight loss. Keep track of calories using apps like Myfitnesspal if you struggle to understand what you're eating. A calorie deficit is the only way to lose fat, that is an undisputable fact. You can either eat less or exercise to burn calories, the easiest way is to just eat less. I'm 15 and a half stone at 5ft 9 with abs and even though I weight train regularly i do zero cardio, I just watch what I'm eating and how much of it.
  12. Defo wouldn't risk just wearing sunglasses on a bike, if a piece of gravel hit them when you were doing any kind of speed they would just shatter into your eyeballs, probably blinding you and causing you to crash in the process.
  13. I'm with Green Flag for my car breakdown, will they cover my bike too then? And what does a bike puncture repair kit consist of?
  14. I've only been riding a couple of weeks so had no basis on what lid to go for other than I has a set budget and it had to be comfortable. Upon actually riding I've now realised I should have got one with an internal built in dark visor seeing as sunglasses are a tight squeeze with the lid on.
  15. This is what I'm worried about, I suppose that's always gonna be the issue with tourer style bikes though. All the screens I've seen are about 20cm higher than standard, which doesn't seem that much more to me to make a big difference.
