I know like no other person what you're going through right now! I actually told my dad there was no way I'd take a bike on the road by myself. I've done my CBT on a 125 but still feel really insecure being on the road (Especially English roads as I come from the right side of the road). My dad however told me to toughen up and just take a bike up some not so busy roads, (maybe some little town roads?) So you can really pick up the whole controlling part so that the changing gears and things will become a habit. If you feel comfortable like that, try to take some 'easy' roads that you know to sort of get used to feel more secure on the road itself. Well, if you still don't feel too secure, which I can fully understand, I think you should indeed find someone to guide you through for a little while. But still, if you find a little confidence and you don't do weird things on the road, you should be fine. You're still on L-plates, which means you're still learning! Otherwise like others have said, maybe book another CBT where you only go on the roads. The instructor can probably teach you better than just any road user (no offence). I'm sorry I can't help you, I would've loved to! But I have to admit, I haven't been on the English roads for longer than 2 hours (which was during my CBT) so I probably wouldn't be able to help you very much, haha. But when I'm in Oxford again, I'd love to meet up with you to go out for a drive together! It always helps when your with more than one!
