  2. Sorry that’s not right. They ARE insured. No tax does not invalidate insurance, it means they may not pay in the event of an accident, however the minimum level of insurance would be afforded to a third party if anything were to happen, so it remains insured. Not legal, but insured. Unless stated in the small print which is insurance company specific.
  3. All good thanks, been concentrating of other stuff, only managed a measly 1800 miles on the bike so far, hence selling for an SDR that I’ll use more. Glad to see the oldies still on here
  4. If you are referring to the current drink drive law, then I’m not sure I follow? Drink driving is an absolute offence. There is no discretion or getting off. Your losing your license. Until you give every member of public the right to stop another driver and request a specimen of breath, then people are always obviously going to get away with it. Until they f*ck up and crash or hurt someone. Game over. Do you honestly believe that people who are impaired through drink or drugs are not at much greater risk of causing accidents? The figures shouldn’t be about accident, most of the drink drivers that get caught will be because their driving was so w**k someone’s called it in, or old bill have seen them drive so bad. Preventative measures.....
  5. Before the limit is lowered I want 2 things: first more enforcement of the current law second I want evidence that people who are under the present limit are having a lot of accidents due to being drunk, so far I've seen nothing and when the limit went down in Scotland the accident rate stayed the Same. Which current law?
  6. HEY! There's a face I've missed! I don’t hear that much Hope you are well?
  7. Don’t normally indulge...but... When I was 21 I was on Holiday in Limassol, Cyprus. Coming out from a beach turning, I tried to beat my mate off the line as we both had hired out DR125’S. I f*cked it right up and the front snapped up, followed quickly by me cutting the power, nearly falling off, grabbing the throttle and basically kangaroo’ing through the whole junction in front of lots of fit young ladies. How the hell I didn’t bin it was a miracle. Must have looked like a right twat. Funny now though
  8. My 2p worth... I think the 35mg per 100ml breath is not far off what it should be. I think 30 would be better personally, but definitely not zero. There needs to be a balance. The onus of responsibility will always be with the driver/rider and unfortunately some people are just scumbags. I’ve stopped loads of people who I thought were well over the limit, they weren’t. On the flip side I’d turned up at accidents and took samples of breath, thinking there was no issue, and they are well over. Just a few myths to dispel though... There is a sliding scale for fines and length of ban. Prescription drugs like Tramadol or anti depressants could also see you with a ban, same as drink driving. Sleeping in the back of your car, pissed, with the keys on you won’t automatically see you knocked (f**kin stupid though) Drug kits and field impairment testing (like the American sobriety test) is becoming wider used now
  9. Mate I’d 100% ride the bobber too. See which one suits you most as they feel different on the road.

  11. Hi mate Yeah I rode all three. Very nearly bought a customised scout from Moorespeed in Poole, but it sold before I could close the deal. So I rode the scout, not for me. Because of the looks, I’m not over keen on the styling, and the different riding position. The pegs are further forward, and different reach to the bars. Same engine mind. No difference comfort wise. The sixty just felt the same, but underpowered. Plenty will tell you it isn’t, but it really is, and the cheaper alternative. So I rode the bobber. Instantly connected with it, just felt bang on. Absolutely love the looks, and it goes very well, even batter now it’s stage 1. If you are thinking about a HD Sportster 1200, ride the bobber. It will change your mind. Sure, HD do the fat bob/boy and breakout 114, immense bikes. But for now I prefer this.
  12. Thanks guys The bike is great. I rode the Harley sportster and it’s not a patch on the Indian even though the engines are the same size. The Indian puts out higher power and is liquid cooled. Sounds amazing and goes like the clappers in a straight line. The seat looks great on it and initially feels comfy. But because it’s so narrow and the suspension is very stiff it soon becomes very painful. The Corbin should sort that, and Ill be getting some bullit springless rear shocks at some stage too. Ground clearance is an issue too, as the bobber sits lower than the normal scout. Feels very very light and it’s a pleasure to ride, apart from the seat. And I don’t wear plugs, if rather listen to that Indian soundtrack.
  13. Yes, it’s better than I thought it wis had be. Only gripe is the seat. It’s so uncomfortable that after 45+ mins sitting on it I don’t know if I’ve pissed myself or my gooch has just gone numb, it’s that bad. So I’ve ordered a Corbin which should be here end of the month...
