The only way to tell if it will run on UNLEADED fuel is to remove the cylinder head and examine the valve seats to make sure they are hardened. With the bike being so old there is a good chance it has been done but since you are asking you obviously don't have the documentation . The best bet is to use an additive until you have checked the valve seats are hardened

after all that you take it all off again and put the spacer in place don't ask how I know
