  1. Hey Folks, just mooching around on another forum and found this little gem posted up. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... -_-TopLink I'd stick it in one of those nice little link things but I have no idea how too Anyway, seems they are doing the Autoglym perfect bodywork kit for £10 instead of £24.99....and it's 3 for 2. Just thought it might be of interest and hadn't seen it posted anywhere else on here (might be wrong)
  2. Incorrect. It will only show as having had a settled claim on it, IF you make a claim. If it's not damaged, then why on earth would you claim? Ah, my bad. Seems I have misunderstood that bit.
  3. I have avoided trackers even though it's a little pricier on the insurance. Someone might be able to correct me on this, but I have thought (and this is one of the reasons I avoided) even if the bike is recovered completely undamaged it is listed as a stolen recovered? Which in turn means you get to take a nice hit on the value of the bike as well as it being tricky to part ex/sell on? Much as I love my bike should it get stolen I would prefer it not to come back and tbh it would probably end up with an insurance claim anyway due to damage done when it was stolen/whoever stole it was searching for a potential tracker. I'm also not keen on the 'tracking' part of them for a number of reasons.
  4. Did my DAS about 4 years ago now after not having been on a motorbike for 20 years and I had never rode a geared motorbike at any point. Did the intensive course over a week and all was fine and the driving will help for sure as the rules of the road are pretty universal. If it's affordable I'd lean towards the DAS and go get a 600, the bigger bikes are definately more fun and easier to ride in my experience.
  5. I built one if the Asgard bike sheds a little while ago and had no problems even though I know a neighbour reported it as they came round taking photos. What reasons did they give for asking you to remove it?
  6. Never had an issue with the visor leaking due to the pinlock. Pinlock pulling the visor in? It should just sit on the inside of the visor. Do you mean it's dragging on the seal? Might be worth looking at how the visor is seated?
  7. Absolute dynamite those things, first winter was shocking for me until I got one. I'd be lost without it now!
  8. Have to agree with Stu, I think location of the shed is far more important than construction. I have a metal shed which is pretty decent tbh, but I live on the north side of a hill so in winter we get very little sunshine and the shed unfortunately suffers quite badly from condensation....so much so my bike lives at my office in the warm over winter. You would think too the insurance would be cheaper considering it's tucked away in an alarmed building which calls the police in the event of the alarm being triggered....You'd be utterly wrong though
  9. Had some of those Oxford ones too a few years ago, magic things! And yeah, 50% was all I needed for any length of time. Sometimes used 75% when it was really cold but even then I couldn't have it that high for any extended period as the grips just got too hot.
  10. Use Castrol Racing lube on mine and tend to clean and relube it at least every 500 or so miles. Probably every 2 weeks over the summer, over the winter every trip out, but winter trips are rare things these days.
  11. Much the same, I tend to ride to the conditions and what's around me. Often that means putting as much space between me and other stuff on the roads as I can. On another note, this is one of the reasons my bike is all tucked up for the winter now. I was heading down the M4 in a company van a couple of days ago and you could hear the grit bouncing off the van all over the place. Not great in itself and then there is the corroding effect of the salt too
  12. Hey thanks! Sorry, been a while since I posted here (since my unfortunate indiscretion infact)....been lurking a bit recently working out who's who and catching up with stuff.
  13. I`m kinda South West....Gloucestershire. Plymouth is a bit of a trek for me though
  14. Only the one drop so far. Coming out of a petrol station in the morning rush hour I went for a gap and span the back wheel. Unfortunately the bike stalled, rolled out into the road and toppled over. I felt like an absolute tool and worst of all nobody stopped to help, just indicated and drove round me as I tried to extract myself and then get the bike up. No real damage fortunately, just a scuffed up crash bung and a small scuff on the mirror. My pride took a hammering though.
