Wedding rings.

I have recently renewed my wedding ring; I've always worn one, and I notice that many men of my generation (born in the 1970's) and older tend to wear them, but I very rarely see men in their early/mid 30's and hardly any in their 20's wearing them. I know quite a few young 'uns who are married, but don't wear a ring. Most women wear a ring though, regardless of age.

I wonder, is the wearing of a wedding ring now considered "so last season" by the young men of today? It would be a shame to see the tradition die out.

I'm thirty and wear a wedding ring. All my married mates who are the same age wear them too.

I can't say I've heard of anyone not wearing them, short of people in movies and TV shows who are going out to pull...

Yep, I wear mine, 31 years after we were wed. But then, I come from the last generation where we stuck together through all the things that can tear a couple apart. We didn't go running to solicitors the first time we had a tiff.

Does that mean you're still together just not married, or you decided to be efficient by skipping the wedding and going straight to divorce?

I'm 33, been married 3 years and wear a wedding ring. We've been together since we were 18, engaged at 21 and wore an engagement ring as well.

To me, if you're not willing to wear that band that dictates you're taken - you're basically putting yourself on the market! I enjoy being married, I enjoy wearing my ring!

Just a thought, saw a video on Del Boys Garage (Youtube, good site) a few weeks ago, where he mentioned the dangers of wearing rings whilst working on bike electrics. Gold it seems is a very good conductor, people have had to have their ring finger amputated because they managed to touch a live battery terminal. Not nice!

I have a mate who does the opposit. He is not married or attached and when he goes out he wears a wedding band ... it tells his 'prey' that he is safe for fun but wont be looking for anything serious. Some women will happily jump into bed with a married man but wouldn't jump into bed with a single man for fear of things getting too serious. Same is true with some men by the way.

Well I'm picking up our wedding rings tomorrow ready for the "big day" in a little under 8 weeks.

There's no way I won't be wearing it considering how much the bast*rd cost!
