Ristonbiker Posted May 2, 2016 Share Posted May 2, 2016 I am doing my theory on Wednesday and hopefully my DA in a couple of months. So my question is which would be the best 1st bike for me? I am ruling out any sports bikes as I am not a sports person so I am wanting a sports tourer but which? I like the ST1100 but was told not to get that big until I have had some experience (I have been riding on a CBT for over 20 years) I just don't want to buy a bike for the hell of it and then want to get bigger in 6 months times and find I no longer have the money to get another bike I am now confused.com would you guys say stay away from the big boys or what? Tango Posted May 2, 2016 Share Posted May 2, 2016 ST1100 would be OK, given your experience. .......The only thing I would say about the Honda Pans is, because of their reliability and their workhorse status they can end up getting a bit neglected......so, finding really nice secondhand ones can be a bit of a lottery.......but, if you do find a well looked after example they are great bikes for racking up the miles......
