Which of these helmet cams?

Recommended Posts

Okay, so after reading the lengthy topic about the cheap helmet cameras on here, I wanted to try something different, I have narrowed it down to the following, which do you guys think looks the better choice to go with?

Ill review it when I get it of course ;-)

Probably around the 50-70 mark pal

My fave cam at the moment is the "Mobius" camera - nice and small and lots of cool features - you need to spend about 15quid on the waterproof case if you need it to be waterproof...

Out of those two the first one has some naff reviews and the second ok but no waterproof case.

Check out the reviews section on this forum, there are a few for cameras.

Tango has a SJ1000 (i think) which seems pretty good and is in budget

I was looking at those one too earlier, some good camera footage on YouTube regarding it also. Maybe worth a look!

Tango mounts it on the bike and it took a bit of experimentation to find a good location with minimum vibration. Quality seems pretty good. It also breaks the footage up into chunks which makes it easier to look back over later

Bike mounting is a bit of a dark art, but i think it gives the best results. so many parts of the bike are vibrating that its tricky to find a good spot.

Hmm decisions, I think I'd have the camera helmet mounted, that way I can direct the camera where needs be, I.e. Some lunatic pulling out on me :-/ but also for capturing the landscape etc. The sj2000 looks decent enough!

i've had the sj4000 for a month now and i'm very impressed with it.

looks like the hero 3 and specs are almost as good.

lots of bits and pieces come with it inc the waterproof case.

i ordered a few extra batteries as they only last about 90 minutes. i have it on 10min record so it will overwrite the old videos if i don't want to keep it. i bought mine from Tmart. there is a new one which is slightly more expensive but is Wi-Fi, i believe it sends video directly to your smart phone or tablet if you want it to.
