Rear Paddock stand.....

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, just been and bought my first ever paddock stand, so i can get under the bike a little more easier and sort chain and grime out.....

Sounds stupid but i'm having difficulty knowing how to really set the bugger up and it doesn't look too safe.....

is that in the right place though?

Paddock doesn't seem aligned, and if i put it even further on the swingarms, it'll hit my stubby.

Should i remove the springs?

Or is it the fact i'm not leveling the bike before doing it?

will try that tomorrow infact....

Edit: so i have bobbins, is it really worth getting hooks for them?

You need to hold the bike upright as you push down on the stand, otherwise it'll be crooked if you lift it while it's at rest on the sidestand, IYSWIM.

Or... push the stand down to take the weight off the sidestand while adjusting the position of the paddock stand so it'll lift straight.

Practice makes perfect :D

Get a bit of wood or a stone and put that under the side stand to make the bike more upright. Then lift from there and it will go up straighter. My stand looks just like yours and it will kink over. Once up I will straighten it by lifting the bike slightly and pulling it so the stand can straighten.

I agree hooks make it easier and the bobbins are cheap

Hooks £5.50 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-RE ... 58aaeed1ba

Bobbins £9 http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... ns&_sop=15
