Spluttery CRF100...

Alright, so I have a little CRF100 at work and it isn't running so smoothly. At around the 1/2 - 3/4 rev range it becomes very spluttery and unpredictable. At full throttle it's fine and same if youre going dead slow.

I'm no mechanic but I know the basics and it's also been serviced but the guy seemed a bit clueless as to what it could be.

Any ideas?

Has it started to splutter since it was serviced, if so then it could be due to something that was done at he service.

Things to check.

1. Remove the spark plug and have a look at its condition. Centre should be tan colour, white or black is bad.

2. Remove the air filter to make sure its not clogged.

3. Check condition of the fuel - drain some out into a clean glass jar, has it got any water in it - small beads visible. or dirt rust etc. If yes then carb will need cleaning.

4. Check the fuel tap is allowing fuel to flow, and the fuel filter is clear.

5. Check the valve clearances - if it was done wrong at the service, you need to get them put right before it damages engine.

6. Other things could be HT lead/coil breaking down. bad electrical connection.
