I saw this a couple months back and thought about it but my impulse eBay purchases usually end up being no good so I'm glad you posted this. Think I'll have to invest

My favorite camera at the moment is the Mobius camera.

Mobius? When I get in I'm going to read the whole post I just read the first page and didn't realise there was 26 pages lol. So has the origional one you posted about turned out ok. I'll more than likely mount on helmet for convenience

yes this camera i pretty good for the money. My only problem was that i wanted it to start recording as soon as the bike switched on, which required me to take it apart an monkey about with the electronics.

This is the comparison photo showing the SportsDV alongside the Mobius.

The Mobius is not waterproof - it needs a case to make it waterproof, so for all weather helmet cam action, the SportDV might be the way to go - although im not totally convinced the SportDV is watertight as it looks like it will leak around the buttons and lights.

Ahh got you, well I would just have mine switched on as and when so the dv might be a good option. As for water tight I think I may be able to get around that although I would only be using it on rides out so chances of it seeing rain hopefully are slim, I doubt anyone would want to see my trip to work.

The mobius looks tidy too. I should be getting one soon, I just can't justify a gopro for my use and doubt I'll start vlogging

the DV makes for a good helmet camera IMO.

The Vibrate feature is good as it makes your helmet vibrate so you know if its turned on or not (yes i know that sounds rude lol)

It also vibrates when it switches off so you know when the battery has died.

pretty sure it would be splash proof, just dont submerge it!

Well I think that's the best the best result I've had. Not perfect, but good enough for me.

I love being on my in the sunshine! :)

One thing I have noticed is that this was taken in 720 and the quality seems to have taken a hit when uploaded to YouTube. 1080 next time!

What did you do to yours please mate, i'm trying to reduce the wind noise on mine :)

I have quite a few different type of cameras for the bike. Look at this.

The quality is better on my computer from the raw stock, You Tube compresses it down's. But it will give you an idea. I use movie maker to add the sound track.

One of the problems I'm alway's coming across is where to mount it. So I've made up a few short videos to show you how I've done it. Hope it help's.

Hi I came across your forum whilst looking for tips on increasing the video time of my camera which I use this camera for my paragliding and it only runs on internal battery for about 20-40 minutes on full charge and unlike you bikers Icant simply pull to the side of the road and change batteries (people get upset if you drop a screwdriver on them from 3000ft!).

I cant see how to make it record on a loop yet and it only takes 3 minute videos which I join together using freemake software so if you find a way please let me know.

also it wont run whilst connected to the usb connector in a laptop, it will only allow reading of the memory , the charger cable uses the metal outer of the usb connector as part of the charging circuit so some usb mains adapters ( like the ipad type) wont work - you have to use the supplied charger adapter unless you are prepared to take apart the usb charger plug and connect the 0v to shield.

I like the idea of drilling a small hole to connect up an external battery ( I connected some external batteries in case in may flying suit top pocket using the 8pin to usb lead, but the internal battery still gave up after about an hour of filming also I get lots of wind noise with the unit so the microphone is also going to be moved out .

I like the streamlike look of the camera as opposed to the hero which my son uses on his motorbike - he fell off last year on some diesel (bikers nightmare) and the hero disassembled itself and didnt record anything!

Hi and welcome to the forum

there is a link in this thread for the firmware to make it record for 45-50 mins continuous then it will start recording again at another 45-50 mins

if you use a large enough SD card you can get a few hours filming

as for the battery you can charge it and use it at the same time via the wall socket so I assume a external charger will work just as well
