  1. Depends what armour you have in the back. Is it foam or a proper protector? Knox and HG offer good armour, normally the stand alone back protector is better than one in the jacket.
  2. I reckon the restriction period should be reduced by 6months those who undertake further training ie bikesafe, IAM etc...
  3. I am going to give it a go without any training, hoping it will be ok but I have a few questions 1. when stopping on the side of the road ready for the hill start/angled start, is putting your foot on the pavement when stopped a fail/fault? No need to put your foot on the pavement. 2.Away from traffic lights, is looking in left mirror, then right mirror, then right shoulder check enough or should a left shoulder check be done too? Both mirrors, and a right lifesaver is sufficent for most situations. 3. If a car is doing 55 on the duel carraigeway and I dont overtake it (my bike only likes doing 60/65 max, at a push and i dont feel comfortable pulling into the right hand lane because I will hold people up by trying to pass) would it be classed as not making appropriate progress? No. 4. turning left/right is checking your left/right (depending on which way you are turning) mirror, signalling, moving over in lane and then doing lifesaver before turning into the road enough in the way of rear obs or should you do a lifesaver before moving within the lane? (i.e life saver after signalling but before moving within the lane) Lifesaver before you change within your lane. 5. When stopped I have heard you should cover your foot over the break, so put your left foot down. Is it ok to hold the rear brake on whilst stopped, even if it is for a couple of minutes or should you take your brakes off when you stop? (presuming your not on a hill) Keep your foot on the brake. Thanks, Alex
  4. You need category A on the counterpart. You will not have it on the photocard because you do not have full bike entitlement. Nope not for the C.B.T only the full licence. Dan
  5. Have you got an alarm fitted?
  6. What model was it? 2009 SV650S When did you buy it and how much did it cost? December, cost £2600 and had 3.2k miles on it Good points? Sounds good with beowulf exhaust. Reliable Fairly low seat height Cheap to maintain and service Reasonable fuel economy Bad points? Seating position Stock exhaust is too quiet and long. Would you get another? Yes but with a bigger engine. Any other comments? Good first bike, restricts well and is cheap on insurance. PERFECT!
  7. Great Jacket. HG warranty is 2 years, and goretex 5 years. Its guaranteed not to leak for that time!
  8. Ebay, If you want an alarmed one, XENA make good disc locks. I also have a Datatool devil 1000, and its pretty good.
  9. where from? boots http://www.boots.com/en/Kalms-Tablets-B ... -_1013968/
  10. Someone I saw got a minor for going too fast. The idea is that you are demonstrating slow speed control. I reckon if you wobble a bit, dependent on examiner you may pick up a minor. Practice a lot then you wont wobble.
  11. Now - couple of shots of vodka. Test - Kalms tablets or bachs herbal remedy. I took kalms tablets and found they really helped.
  12. I was told I dont need to. However seems like my instructor was wrong.
  13. Yep that will be fine, providing the jeans are thick. There is no requirement to wear Hi viz - I rang the dsa at the beginning of July. Dont forget gloves
