  1. Ah, fair enough. Hopefully it's a rough outline of some of the bikes eligible for the uk ^^
  2. The best way to find out is to first visit this site: http://www.sa.gov.au/subject/Transport%2C+travel+and+motoring/Motoring/Motorcycling/Motorcycles/Learner+approved+motorcycles Gives you a huge list of all bikes that are under 33 bhp Or if your set on having a more powerful bike for after the two years, just search '33 bhp restrictor kits' Good Luck
  3. Obviously its best to slow down gradually so you shouldn't be in a position when you want to change them down all at once. Plan ahead and slow down gradually, don't try and race as far as you can and then break in my opinion But, it's fine to engage the clutch and gear down all at once if you come to a sudden stop Ride safe -Rob
  4. Nice one mate, best of luck with the new bike Ride Safe -Rob
  5. Congratulations mate Ride safe -Rob
  6. If your serious about motorcycling, i wouldn't do your CBT again. Go for the full test, i've heard the test is getting harder and more expensive in 2013. If your just using a bike until you have the money for a car or something, then by all means continue on a learner licence ^^
  7. Did my CBT a few months back. Was an interesting day, both me and my partner passed. We started in a classroom, getting tested on a few different road signs and common knowledge. If we didn't know the answer he just explained it to us. After we went out to a school playground (empty of course) and saw our bikes. The person i was with was on a 125cc geared chinese bike, and i was on a 50cc chinese twist and go scooter. We were taught about techniques for cornering, braking, acceleration etc. The twist and go was pretty easy and i didn't have any problems. The other guy on the geared was having a few getting to understand the clutch, and was continuously stalling and surging forward. The instructor was beginning to get a bit annoyed after a while and so went over to give him a hand. Turns out, the reason for his problems was not only that it was his first time on a geared bike, but also he was missing the two middle fingers on his clutch hand. Apparently from where a toilet fell off a store shelf landed on his hand when he was young (Ouch). So the instructor felt a bit bad for his tone when he was talking to him... After we went out on the road for about 2 hours, making our way back to the training centre, using radios with headphones. At one point, he said straight on, and at that point i was facing the first turning. So i went that way. Turns out he meant across the roundabout and i had just turned onto the dual carriageway. So absolutely scared Sh*tless, i pulled over and waited for the instructor who guided me up and around a main roundabout. Phew. After that we made our way back to the centre and were told we both passed. Was a fun day ^^
  8. What model was it? The suzuki TS 50, 1990 version i believe When did you buy it and how much did it cost? From a dealer in Southampton for £800 Good points? Very comfortable Feels stable Great cornering Nice acceleration Small storage area under the seat for spanners, screwdrivers and other small items It's a 2 stroke but sounds like a 4 stroke under 7000 rpm, then a respectable 2 stroke after that Fantastic for offroad as well as on. Has easily enough power to get past most problems in 2nd gear Great fuel consumption (Costs £9 to fill a full tank and that lasts me for 120-140 miles or so) 80 miles to the gallon if i remember right Bad points? Has some problems with the engine when driving in the wet Power (For a 50 its pretty speedy though, 45 mph is the top you want to go, otherwise your thrashing it) Would you get another? Without a doubt Any other comments The gears are 1 down 5 up A fantastic buy for any 16 year old with a provision license (and has done CBT) Attach a picture if you wish. http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/TS/TS50/2000_TS50X_black_520.jpg
