If that is what you say, than I agree.

you seem to contradict yourself. You agreed that those "lanes" are no good for cyclists and potentially dangerous and than you condemn cyclists for not using them... The truth is that plenty of "cycle lanes" is just some paint on the road and often are incorrectly/unsafely placed so you cannot blame cyclists in those situations.

Seriously, many of the cycle paths I see in London are a joke - it is just paint on the road... There should be dedicated off-road paths for cycles only. That would encourage more people to cycle in a safe and healthy manner. Would also eliminate the problem where many people call to license them. It is much better to get them off the road and ease up traffic this way. The more people cycle off the road the less traffic there is and the easier it is for the ones who have to use a car. Everybody wins.
