  1. I use the WD40 Chain Wax, and I havn't had a problem, Although when I first put it on I think I over did it slightly as my chain turned white They also do a chain cleaner and that works wonders.
  2. The lifetime of a helmet should be anywhere between 3 - 5 years, replacing your £100 helmet every 9 months where as a decent £300 - £400 pound helmet should last for, at minimum, 3 years. Baisc maths shows that 36 (amount of months in 3 years)/9 (the length of time you state you keep your helmet for * £100 (The amount you pay for your helmet) = £400 so its a bit of a false economy. In my opinion (and it is an opinion) I would much prefer paying the £400 for a helmet than £100 and replace it more frequently. The other thing to mention is that its never so much about how long a helmet will last, its about how well it will protect your noggin if you have to rely on that helmet. I have seen it quoted else where "If you think you have a £25 head, buy a £25 helmet!"
  3. Love Poole Quay, do the bike night bikers still ride to The Hunters Lodge for BBQ's?
  4. Good luck, just relax, pay attention and most of all have fun... I had a grin all the way home after mine, glad I had a full face helmet
  5. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B006E0W ... -1&pi=SL75 is the one I use for work, I have travelled in hail, hurricane style winds and torrential rain, dry as a bone contents when I got home!
  6. NOTD goes to the idiot in a white transit last night who overtook me on a double blind bend, whilst I was sat at a few mph over the speed limit... it didnt gain him anything, and I overtook him again on the straight as he was dawdling...
  7. It wouldnt be enforcable in regards to policing the roads, however like so many other countries if its put in as part of the school curriculum it might work...
  8. because unfortunately some driving instructors only teach people how to pass the test, not how to actually drive... there's a saying I keep hearing that once you pass your test only then do you learn to drive, whilst this may be true some people do not have the capability to learn and be safe on the road!
  9. That is ridiculous, is there a general shortage in common sense that seems to have gone unnoticed? I reckon some sort of theory test for cyclists should be brought in, just for the basics of the highway code at the very least.

    THE SUNS OUT

That would have been a long ride for me then lol!!
  11. Today is not my day, tonight on my ride home a tractor pulls out on me, so I hit my brakes, lock my back wheel and had to release my brakes and reapply... Then the tractor decide to sit at 20 all the way till the turning into my village, at which point he sped up...
  12. The complete and utter twunt that pulled onto the Sparkford/Hazelgrove roundabout infront of me, after he eyeballed me coming round!

    THE SUNS OUT

Just had a nice leisurely ride into work, went well out of my way (took 45mins to do a 10 min commute) just because I was enjoying it so much...
  14. Funny enough mine too... I had a friend who worked for one of these places, as a salesperson they do not make much from the sale of a branded item, they make more profit hawking the additions that no-one would actually need. As for the colour of the laptop making a difference to the stability, the only time I find this to be the case is if it has a silver DELL sticker/logo on it, then regardless of colour its not going to be stable! You could always buy a black one and use vinyl wrap to colour it... just dont cover the vents like I did once, then wonder why it was burning my groin...
