  1. I've got a pair of Held gloves, summer ones not winter, but they seem good quality. I used to wear a sort of silk inner glove under my winter gloves to keep hands warm, have also worn the thin rubber operating theatre / garage mechanic type gloves under main gloves to keep hands warm and water proof in the past...
  2. This just comes down to practice, if you can use someones bike to practice on, or hire a bike for the day from your training company and just practice these over and over again. When i did mine it was on a slight down hill area, with a van load of policemen all watching me, so no pressure! Find the clutch bite point, ensure the clutch is engaged with revs well above tickover, say about 3k or 4k revs, so the bike wants to pull you forward, at a slow speed, DO NOT go too fasty! Control your speed with the back brake, so the bike brake is dragging. Do NOT touch the front brake. A quick lifesaver when you pull away, run forward for a couple of metres to get yourself set up and balanced, then turn the bike with another quick lifesaver, look where you want to go, do not look straight ahead and do not look down. Practice, practice, practice...
  3. Ok, what are your hobbies (other than this here Bike Forum thingy).... I have too many hobbies and not enough time, which I suppose is better than having no hobbies and loads of time... They include; Reading (SciFi, Thrillers, Biops, Crime Thrillers, Steam Punk, etc) Music (collecting and listening to, including pretty much anything except Country and Jazz, eck!) Computers (building them, overclocking, modding, etc) Cars (driving and slight modding) Motobikes (riding and slight modding) Mountain bikes (riding) Fishing (Fly and coarse) Shooting (Air Rifles) Golf (not played this for a while though?) Squash (also not played this for a while) Travel, including UK and abroad, Hotels and Cruises. Eating out (pubs and restaurants) Recently tried Heston's pub The Hinds Head, in Bray, it was fantastic! Console gaming (PS3 mainly) PC Gaming, not so much now but was seriously into driving and flight simulators. Collecting (mostly old gaming consoles and vintage or rare comics / magazines) DIY and building (its also my job) Painting (water colours) Gardening (well someones got to!) Cooking... Reading and contributing to on-line forums, many and varied, (mostly related to above list of hobbies) Not forgetting the time honoured man hobby of.....wasting time, eg: watching a kettle boil, leaning on a fence/wall, staring into space, running a bath, etc, etc. Real proper man time... That about it.... like I said, too many....

  6. Yep, I have already bought three!, one for my work coat, one for a fleece and one for "Winter" coat, which i haven't started wearing yet as its not cold enough.... Always happy to support our Boys (and girls)....
  7. I had a week in Wales last year, it was very pleasant. Weather was nice, dry and warm too (June 2014). We had three days in South Wales, then another 3 days in North Wales. Tenby is nice in South Wales, as was the Gower Peninsula - The Mumbles, nice scenery. Barmouth and Anglesey are nice in North Wales. Obviously Snowdonia is worth a look, as is Portmerion (sp?). NB: Great road to drive in Wales is the B4560 thru the Brecon Beacons (From Beaufort, A465 to Talgarth, A479 = 40 mins and 17 miles) one of National Geographic magazine’s top 10 drives in the World. Some nice biking roads generally....
