  1. The first time you come off your toy doing 30 - 35 mph on one of them roads thats got stones set in tarmac wearing your tracky bottoms and suffer gravel rash..... you will rush out (when your wounds have healed) to buy either textiles or leathers . ]
  2. I had to read the title of this thread twice before i realised it meant 'on the bike' . I am the worlds original fair weather rider.....i got caught in the rain about 6 weeks ago...came home soaking wet and bike absolutely filthy....the following day i spent 4hours jet washing.....then hand washing.....then polishing my baby back into showroom condition....cleaned and waxed the chain...... Then put a silk cover and a bike cover over her in my carpeted garage....locked and alarmed her...... And i aint seen her since....... I will visit her occasionally to start her up and warm the engine...... We will reintroduce ourselves next spring when i take her for a full service before i thrash the bejesus out of her
  3. I nod / acknowledge 99% of bikers...... The only people i ignore are the chavs on scooters that ride around with trainers on,no gloves and tracksuit tops ..... I HATE THESE PEOPLE !........ Weaving in and out of traffic with no sence of the highway code , They havent grasped the use of indicators . AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHH...... breathe in....breathe out.....breathe in .......breathe out....... Thats better, calm is restored ! I even nod to harley riders..... but they have their own rules which i think state they must only acknowledge other harleys
  4. Hi ..... I promised Vicki i would put a couple of notices up on the notice board at the cafe advertising this forum, i also left a bundle of business type cards. Many thanx for your help Vicki.... Your a diamond
  5. The flags are only out when the cafe is open on saturdays and sundays from 9.30am...... The owner Lol does wish to open on a week nite but is currently gauging customer reaction before opening midweek.
  6. I know there is a couple of cafe's locally that bikers use but this new cafe is specifically aimed at bikers..... we just have to spread the word and hope a few lads (and ladies) try it out.
  7. With permission from Vicki i would like to tell you about a new cafe that opened up last saturday just outside Stokesley,North Yorks. The Flag Cafe is situated on the Seamer to Stokesley road approx half a mile from Seamer..... As you leave Seamer going towards Stokesley there is a public weighbridge on the left hand side...... once you get there turn into the weighbridge entrance and follow the flags for 3/4 of a mile along a driveway leading to the cafe which is set in its own beautiful surroundings with views of Roseberry Topping and The Cleveland Hills. The owners Lol and Carol have started this cafe which is aimed specificly at all bikers (Lol is a Pan European rider himself)......Initially the cafe will be open on saturdays and sundays from approx 9.30am....with a view to opening during the week if his business succeeds. Having met Lol yesterday he seems a very genuine fella that is open to all ideas and suggestions on how to improve the cafe. The cafe has a large indoor seating area with tv to view and tables and chairs outside in his very spacious field. There is plenty of hard standing areas for bikes to park. The land the cafe is on is all owned by Lol and possibly in the future he may let bikers camp at the site. If you are local to the area its agreat place to meet up with your mates for a cuppa before your ride out....... If your travelling from further afield come and have a ride round North Yorkshires twisty roads before trying out The Flag Cafe for Burger/chips or a bacon sarny and a cuppa. It is slightly off the beaten track but this is the first cafe i know of in this area thats directly aimed at us bikers so for that reason i would love it to take off and be well used........ If your in the area this weekend please call in....... I will be there on Sunday as ive prayed to the sun gods for nice dry weather. I have no connection to Lol or his business other than a tea drinking bacon sarny eating biking customer but id love to have a place like this on my doorstep(well,10 mins ride away). I have promised vicki i will print off some flyers and business cards for TheMotorbikeforum that will be available for customers in the cafe. Many thanx Trevor (teedee)
  8. I ride when im day off, the suns out , the roads are dry and its not bloody freezin
