1. This is great idea and saw smaller ones myself on the net but as you said the bike needs to be above 125. I failed my MOD1 so I'm still riding with a loser plate. As dynax mentioned (Thanks dynax) a custom made product might be required. There is definitely a gap in the market. Good luck with your purchase but how about getting your wife on a bike?
2. not an option. As much as I like riding I would sooner give that up than golf.
3. I'm looking for a way to transport a full set of golf bags using my scooter. In the past I was able to carry a few clubs either in my backpack with the shaft sticking out or in a pencil bag between my legs. Currently I carry my full set in a car but that won't be an option in the near future. I don't want to have to buy a car just for the sake of golf but at the same time I don't want to have to stop playing golf and I do love the sport and play it a lot. I have seen a few pics on the web but the products all seem to lead to US sites. Does anybody carry bags on their bikes/scooters? I live in London and have been riding a Honda sh125i. Though it's been stolen it has also been recovered and I'm still hopefull to get it back from insurance company. Until then I'm limited to a Vespa something. Also 125 but appears smaller than the Honda. I'm happy not to filter through traffic when I carry the bag. Any suggestion or direction is appreciated.
4. Whoop! Whoop! Well done! What a weight off the shoulders it must be.
5. I need a school that dedicates time on MOD1 maneuvers rather than riding around town. Let's focus on one part of the full test. I don't want to ride on the road until I have passed my MOD1. For me that is the hard part. But most schools hold CBT courses in their offroad training area and the DAS course gets only an hour there before they are being kicked out. At least that's what happened with the school I trained with earlier this year. PS. I'm Barnes area of London.
6. It had an alarmed disc lock and an oxford chain around the back tire. They only left a chain loop that they saw through. I wanted to put a tracking device on it but thought I spend the money for that on my new bike. Boo me. I guess when they make the decision to take a bike they do so no matter what. I'm just glad they didn't take it whilst I was on it. That would have been worse. Indeed, there is silver lining in all of this. Firstly it's making me walk more so I'm getting fit. Secondly, I should get more motivated to pass my full test. Thirdly, I end up with an upgraded bike without the pain of selling the other one. I hope I can report back during the summer to say I have passed MOD1
7. My Honda SH125i got taken during the night . I have had it for almost 6 years and I still count myself lucky for having it that long. So many scooter theft in and around London. I do not want to buy another 125cc so this leaves me with two options: 1. Hang up the biker gear 2. Attempt to gain the A license again It has to be the second, right? But I get so easily discouraged. I need to find a really good training school.
8. Thank you all for your replies they do keep me motivated. I will try again later in the year my new plan is to save up for an intensive 5-6 day course though and I will insist on getting plenty of practise in slow maneuver. I did not want to admit it as I have been riding for so long but I do suck at cornering I tense up every time so for now I practise on my scooter and take my time whilst I save up. I am looking forward to coming back to the board and tell everyone i have finally passed. I know it will happen. Magpie84 Congratulation on passing mod1. Right now I feel you've done the impossible. Well done and all the best for MOD2.
9. It was not a good day at Mitcham test center yesterday with 4 people (that I know of) failing. I made another attempt at MOD1 yesterday and failed again. To be honest I was not in the right mindset I was telling myself since I got out of bed that I would fail on the U-turn and during practise in the morning I couldn't do it despite the many attempt. I don't know what it was I was not nervous anymore rather annoyed that I have to do it again. It was raining all morning and I didn't have proper waterproof trousers only the ones loaned by school which didn't seem to work. Even before I got to the test center I was so wet waist down I was not amused at all. So I'm not surprised that I failed again I just wish I didn't bother riding all that way with that attitude. Sadly this was my last attempt due to shortage of fund (I really thought I would pass first time and be done with by now) £180 + test fee is a lot of money and the majority of the day is spent riding around rather than focusing MOD1 items. I may give A1 a try at some time and use my own scooter after all my main goal was to lose the L plate and ditch the 2 yearly CBT. After that I would have time to upgrade if I wanted to without having to go through the theory test, CBT, etc again. Good luck for everyone else attempting their tests.
10. I failed MOD1 yesterday at Mitcham for not meeting the required speed for the emergency stop exercise. Until then everything went perfect. I was worried about emergency stop as many years ago during CBT training I fell with the bike during this exercise (I tried to blame it on the rain at that time) but I really thought I overcome my fear and I even nailed it during practise earlier in the day (straight line only though). What made things worse was the fact that the other person from my school taking the test just before me have passed even though he couldn't ride a bike if his life depended on it. I feel blue My world came crushing down when the examiner told me I only reached 46 km/h. I even woke up during last night crying. I so desperately want to get rid of my loser plate.
11. Thank you all for the replies I really appreciate all the advice. I have since had to make the decision to postpone my training as the training company called me to bring my mod2 test forward as from next year the Integra 750 is not meeting the size requirement for the full motorbike test. As the timing didn't work for me I decided to take my CBT again in January then over the course of the next months train using a geared bike and if I feel confident with it take the full text on it. Thanks again for all the advice and good luck wishes. I shall revisit the forum to share my journey.
12. Hello, I'm new to the forum having only recently deciding to take the full motorcycle test. I have been riding continuously a honda sh125 scooter for the past 5 years and as my CBT is about to expire I decided to try and complete the full test and finally lose the 'loser' plate from the front and back of my scooter. I have passed the theory test and have both module 1 and module 2 tests booked in with an additional 2 day for training. To give myself a chance I decided to take the test on an automatic bike which I now know will be on a Honda Integra 750. I went to my local Honda garage to check this bike out and whilst I was expecting a bigger bike than my current scooter I have found it quite large and honestly I've been panicking about the test every since. I have been extremely nervous when I first started to ride and took me a few months to start feeling comfortable and confident on the road. What should I expect from riding the larger bike? Does the manuvering (slalom, figure of eight) feel any different? I'd love to hear from anybody who can put my at my ease.
