  1. Just jumped bike via a booster pack and all working ok but when booster pack disconnected it stops I have rechecked the battery and it’s only showing 12v so looks like a dud battery so I have ordered one I have checked and alternator is charging
  2. Hi all The bike has been running ok after engine rebuild but when I went to start the bike today the engine management light was very dim and when turned over it acted like a flat battery ..I checked voltage and across the terminals it was showing 12.5 v...so I put battery on charge over night ..I’ve tested today and battery showing a good 12.78 volts but I have no power at all no ignition no power when ignition is switched on ..no engine management light every thing is dead could this be the main fuse and if so where is it or is this a Honda gremlin
  3. Hi Robb I’ve just dropped the wheel out and discovered the wheel bearing on the sprocket side is worn out it got lots if excessive movement
  4. Hi all Update on my little Honda cbf 125 that I bought as A non runner ..engine is now rebuilt and running and after resealing the cam cover and backing up the rubber gasket with instant gasket it now has a leak free engine ..after repairing the front and rear tyres ( leaking around the valve where it enters the rim ) my attention has now been turned to putting the back wheel back in ..after offering up the wheel and bolting all up ..I’ve noticed that the sprocket has got quite excessive movement from from front to back ( as the chain will run ) and also it’s got excessive movement sideways ( top to bottom ) I can remember many moons ago that bikes have rubber cushions inside the rear wheel to take slack when the chain is going round ..( unfortunately I forgot to check the wheel bearings when I reassembled the wheel ..can anyone shed any light on the cushions if they have gone bad could they cause this much movement..the wheel has been put back correctly so it’s it’s spacer problem Regards Richard
  5. I’ve taken cover back of and going to check for blocked breather pipes and then put instant gasket on and put rubber gasket back on and try ..there’s no pressure it’s just weeping ...I’ve looked on you tube and it seems many people fitting cam gaskets ( my one is rubber ) also back up the gasket with instant gasket it seems Honda gaskets instant gasket is used
  6. Thank you for responding I’ve got some clear instant gasket that I use for when I replace water pumps on cars RTV silicone rubber sealant it goes up to temperature 250 Celsius do you think that’s ok to use
  7. Hi all Update on my little Honda cbf 125 engine rebuild ... Barrel/ rings / piston replaced the engine is all back together and started on the button straight away ..after leaving the bike on tick over for 15 minutes to run the new piston rings and barrel in I’ve noticed that the rocker cover had a slight oil leak all the way round the gasket ...I’ve retorqued the cover down and it’s still weeping oil ..the gasket is new I’ve retook of the cover and redone up the cover bolts but still the same weep of oil ..I’m used to working on car engines and normally the rubber gaskets hold good on them ..is it advisable to add some instant gasket ( high temperature resistant) to back the rubber gasket up and ideas
