  1. Wouldn’t really want it mounted on my bike unless I’m doing a track day. I’d rather have a POV position on my helmet. Good idea with the mic though, the gopro adapter is a rip off and that’s even before u buy a mic
  2. Just picked up a GoPro Hero 7 Black and test it out with the chest mount... as you can see in the video below it’s a bit of a shit position (even after I change the angle a bit further on). Im wanting the camera on the chin of my helmet Tbut mounts I have don’t really fit the as it’s quite a pointy shape. Does anyone any mount recommendations for the chin area? Cheers! https://youtu.be/Z2DaiOjvwG0
  3. Well it’s been a few weeks since I picked it up, been out in it quite a lot considering I’m away for work 2 weeks at a time. Here’s some more thoughts I’ve been having. 1) Screams everywhere - I’m surprised at how quick I’ve gotten used to the power. And the lack of torque down low/mid is quite noticeable. If I want to do an overtake on a 60 I’ve got to get it right up the RPMs to quickly get past. As the red line is at 16.5K it’s obviously screaming 99% of the time which gives the impression I’m going faster than I actually am. “Bloody hell Im moving alright through these roads” I think to myself... *looks down** *64mph* haha! Before I got the bike I could never understand why the middleweight sports bike section was diminishing, but if people are thinking the same as me about wanting more torque low down, then I can see why. I’m already looking at 1000s for next year... 2) Could do with electronics - the 09 ZX6R is as raw as they come for modern day sports bikes, no electronics what so ever. It think ABS at a minimum would help my confidence with carrying speed into corners. (Or maybe I’m just a pussy) 3) Slippery Tyres - I have Michelin Power RS on the back and Metzler M5’s on the front. When I picked up the bike the dealer had put tyre slick on them to make them shiny, I asked him to clean it off but I think it’s still on there. It looks like I have huge chicken strips but it’s the tire slick... I feel as though I’m glued to the ground up until a certain lean angle then it’s like I’m on ice and soon bring the bike back up... I was thinking about getting a very fine sand paper and sanding it off, just wondering if there’s any other methods? I’ve had a thinning solution on it but it didn’t work. That’s it for now, I’ll update if anything else crosses my mind! Here’s a little flyby I did on a quiet road, sounds quite tasty if you ask me haha! https://youtu.be/ep57K7bi7_4
  4. I’m 6 foot 3 and ride a ZX6R like Justarn... I’m pretty okay at the moment with the seating position, but that could be because I’m only in my 20’s. As he also said above, all the sports bikes will have a very similar seating position, so if the S1KRR wasn’t for you, I doubt any will be. Based on that you’re narrowed down to the naked bike. You’ve already said you liked the MT-10 but not as much as your MT-09. Why pay that much for something you don’t enjoy more than your current bike? If it were my decision I’d go for the TUONO V4. They do have a lot more going on at the front than other nakeds and look pretty cool with an aftermarket wind deflector. The v4 engine is arguably the best sounding on the market and the the seating position will be sporty but not cramped like you find on full blown sports bikes. TUONO 1100 V4 gets my vote.
  5. I am very much a fan of 600s done a few track days on a K7 GSXR a few years ago and have owned both a CBR600RR and R6, they’re flickable and you can get on the power quicker, that said the latest 1000s are just as agile and have an amazing array of electronics, the sad fact is pretty much all the development has gone into the 1000s in the last few years. The 2015 + R1 that he’s got is a phenomenal piece of kit, I completely agree it’s overkill on the road-although I’m one to talk but on a track the chassis and electronics come into their own, not just for top riders but for us mere morals too, I’d still say the RSV4 is my favourite bike I’ve ever ridden in a track. As for the colour thing, green bikes look great, especially the older Kawasaki’s of the 90s-love the ZXR750, although- red looks pretty good too .FCC2D065-B896-47F3-8129-3C4A2C569CFE.jpeg I think you’ve just won the cock wagging contest with the Duc! If I were to go up on capacity it would definitely for a v4! RSV4 + SC Project/Austin Racing = heaven
  6. Better picture of her http://i67.tinypic.com/sw8m80.jpg
  7. I did, not the most exciting roads but very fun either way!
  8. Sooooo I’ve been to Bradford (1.5 hour drive away) today and collected my 2009 ZX6R. All I can say is wow, I couldn’t stop laughing for about 5 minutes after I pulled away from the dealership. As this is my first big bike I don’t really have anything else to compare it with..but my lord it feels perfect. The seating position is aggressive - but not uncomfortable The power above 8k is mind boggling - but not unmanageable. The breaks need a little getting used too as they’re strong as hell, every time I grab a little bit it feels like the blood is getting pushed to the front of my head. The bike is clean, has a full pipewerx system with decat (sounds gorgeous) and is just a generally awesome bike. At the present time I’m not sure why anyone would want anymore power than that... maybe ask me again in a couple of years.
  9. Congrats Ryan, well if your up for it we could get out on the ninjas on Sunday if you are free? I’m gunna be tied up until Tuesday mate, I’ll defos give you a shout next week
  10. Exactly my thoughts.. for there to be no gap behind all the cars behind would need to be accelerating just as fast. Sounds to me like you wanted to get in front of him and didn’t want to back down and nearly killed yourself. Maybe it’s your way to lift the guilt off your shoulders by saying there was no way to slow down and get behind? I’d just say I f**ked up, got caught in the moment and nearly done myself in. You’ll learn next time what to look out for instead of acting like it wasn’t your fault. Sorry if I’m wrong and come across like a dickhead, just putting my 2 cents in
  11. PASSED - 0 MINORS Arrived today at 1pm for my Mod 2 a bag of nerves. Walked into the waiting room and there was around 5 guys there waiting for mod 1 and mod 2 results. One by one they were called in for their results and one by one they were coming out disappointed. Not one of them had passed today which made me feel even worse. Were they all just making mistakes or was the instructors in a particularly bad mood today? Anyway I was called in to do the paperwork type bits and bobs and was ever increasingly sweating with nerves. He Set me up with the ear piece and told me to walk outside. I forgot my helmet and my gloves and once I retrieved them I began to repeatedly drop them on the floor.. Next thing was the eye test and the questions. I was pleasantly surprised at how close the registration plates were - if you can see any more than a bat, you should be fine. After that we headed over to the bike, the questions I was asked: - what do we adjust on the bike when carrying a pillion. - rear suspension, tyre pressure I answered. - how would we check the condition of the tyre - 75% coverage of at-least 1mm tread and no damage to the side walls I answered. - show me how the horn works - *turns key* *beeps horn* Okay now onto the proper stuff. I jumped on the 2001 bandit and was instructed to set off when I was ready... *STALLS*.. started her up again, did my mirror checks and off I went. For some reason today felt like everyone in the town was on the roads, it was very very busy! I just kept focused, relaxed and breathed deeply. I had a sort of routine in my head which I kept to whilst riding and it seemed to work very well. If I saw the following things, I would remember to do that certain action. For example: SPEED LIMIT SIGN - mirror checks CARS PARKED ALONG SIDE OF ROAD - mirrors + right shoulder check out EXITING ROUND ABOUT - wait until after the last exit - signal - life saver over the shoulder which has an empty lane next to it COMING TO A STOP/TRAFFIC LIGHT - double mirror check JUNCTION - mirrors, signal, move to position 1 for left and position 3 for right. It basically went on like that in my head for the half an hour of riding (which felt like minutes). We got back and I knew I had done okay but didn’t expect to get 0 minors. “GOOD RIDE” he said, which in examiner terms mean, no faults. The one biggest bit of advice I could give is to practice the roundabouts in your area. In the area I did mine in there were a lot of tricky roundabout systems which had faded road markings and signs covered by tree branches. If you signal too early, or ride in the wrong lane and cut some one up - you’re going to fail. Other than than just relax, usually the examiners are nice guys who don’t want to be given a reason to fail you. As many other people say “treat him as a sat nav”. They always give you plenty of time in regards to instructions, so you can have chance to keep a look out for road signs, road markings etc. I’m off to sleep now, up early to pick up my 2009 ZX6R! Best of luck everyone.
  12. If you want low down grunt go for the 09+ model, that cross plane i4 is suppose to be insane
  13. I’ve seen them on r&gs website, look like flat little discs. I’m with you though, I prefer the longer ones. You’re definitely right though, I’ll be getting them all eventually. Haven’t even picked the bike up yet as I’m still at work! Can’t wait to get it home and tinker with it
  14. Hiya Guys, Can anyone recommend some framesliders/crash bobbins for the 2009-2013 ZX6R which don’t require the fairings to be cut, drilled or trimmed? Thanks in advance

    mt07

Can’t see much as it’s covered up. Looks like it has the same headlight as the MT-10 and MT-09 SP which is a good thing
