Yup, I think I've decided to not go with a 2t, seeing it would require extra work and a 4t is easy to keep like the wr125x or yzf 125r is better for my use (mostly commuting to college) despite the extra costs with them. I think the supermoto would be better for me, as i can learn a few more things with it.

Thank you both, my budget is around up to 2000 for the bike and currently, I have a 50cc supermoto (as I am 16) which has proven reliable for the past year which is why I'm wondering if I should go for something like a yz instead, as 2 strokes seem to be faster as well. Insurance also seems to range from 600 to 900 with 1 year no claims and I have found that the conversion from dirtbike to street-legal would cost from 200 to 300. The wr125x is a 4 stroke street legal Yamaha, but its insurance seems to be on the higher end around 900 compared to yz125 at 580 I also don't mind spending more on the bike, as if I do sell it next year it shouldn't depreciate that much.

Hi, I'm turning 17 soon, so looking for a 125cc bike. I have a variety of options but I am thinking of going for a yz125 or wr125x as they seem like fun bikes to ride. I am also considering CBR's and duke's but their insurance is almost 200 more than a yz125 which is just 580. Any tips on whether a 2 stroke would be reliable to ride daily or what I should be looking for? I would also have to convert from a dirtbike to a street-legal supermoto. thanks
  4. My clutch cable snapped, and I replaced it yesterday with a new one, was just wondering if it's fine if I use the lube I had for my pushbike? This is it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283596812781
  5. Ok thanks, the bike is all the way in London and I'm in bristol though.
  6. Hey guys was looking to buy a Derbi Senda 50 2016 for 1200, are they reliable and worth it at that price or not? thanks
  7. yup I'm avoiding Chinese bikes now, instead I am looking at an Aprilia sx50 2007 but it seems quite small and needs a front calliper replacement
  8. Alright thanks for the help everyone. I was just unsure whether to buy a generic with 13000km on it as its a chinese brand, so i dont know the reliability
  9. Is it worth it to buy a trigger for 900 and then insure tp only for 300?
  10. I've seen a few gilera's and they are quite nice and cheap. When it comes to triggers are they reliable? Also should I be going for comprehensive insurance or tp? It cuts about 200 off. Many thanks
  11. Yeah, I don't really know which 50 to go for, I found a nice genetic trigger for 950 pounds and insurance would be another 580 roughly.
  12. Yeah I was thinking of waiting but I have about 10 months till I'm 17 and I need a way of getting to college and getting a bike seems the best way. Plus i can have a bit of fun
  13. I didn't realise that, thanks. Any recommendations for used bikes for a 16 year old? I dont really want something like an aerox but more of something like the generic trigger or rieju rs2
  14. As a 16-year-old, I am looking for a bike. I was thinking of buying a 125cc so that it can be restricted to a 50 for now and then unrestrict it when I'm 17. However, the problem is almost every insurance quote doesn't allow me to put in a 125 or if they do, the price is stupid high like 4000 pounds a year. Can someone help me and tell me a way in which I can lower the insurance or do I have to buy a 50? The websites that do allow me to insure the 125 are very high, and when I add in a modification of the restrictor, the insurance goes even higher. Thanks
