  1. well after much research I have decided on a yamaha wr125x with a seat height of 36.2inch I think that should be more than enough for me being 6 foot 2 plus its a really nice looking bike imo of course.
  2. This seems to be the general opinion from my research the main problem is huge depreciation due to the stigma attached to these bikes, for that reason I now have my heart set on a yamaha wr125x you can pick one up 5years old or so for around 2 grand and nobody told me they were a good alternative to a varadaro in that im 6foot 2 and this bike is also quite tall, its a shame about the lexmotos
  3. By the way dynax lovely looking bike you have there, im gonna look into this um range now ive never heard of them until you mentioned it so nice to have more options thanks
  4. Thankyou so much guys, I think its best to go for the A then and just use a 300cc for my needs at least in the future if i decide to go up in size I dont have to resit a test, I was under the impression that each test would be different or one harder to pass than the other but now i know they are all the same so thankyou very much the internet is so full of misinformation its really hard to know what to take on board thanks guys
  5. Thanks guys, and bonio the reason im ruling out the varadero is its just not my cuppa tea i think its quite boring looking and they seem overpriced just because they suit a niche market that being taller learners
  6. Hi guys Im just wondering what the best 125 options for a guy like myself would be im 6foot2 and 17st, any bike suggestions other than the honda varadero would be much appreciated the inseam of my leg is 33inch for reference, im considering a yamaha mt 125 as i really like the look of naked bikes and prefer the upright riding position, i was also considering the lexmoto viper but any help would be much appreciated
  7. Hi guys Im just wondering would there be much point in me doing the full licence, im going to do my cbt drive a 125 for commuting, i rarely get to go above 40mph in the city so id be happy with just a 125 for a while but im thinking eventually of going for somthing a tiny bit bigger like an mt03 or duke 390 as this option is perfect for me as its still cheap tax and fuel and i wont have to run l plates, I already own an expesnsive suv so just trying to keep costs down, so my question is would it be worth while doing the a and if so how much extra would it cost me also is the test for the a much stricter than the a2, and finally once I attain the a2 do you still have to do a cbt every 2 years ? Sorry lot of questions but the biking lisensing laws are very complicated over here ive previously owned and driven in a different country cbr 600 suzuki bandit ect but obviously i have to start a fresh any help would be much apreciated
  8. Hi guys Im looking for a nice little 125 commuter to get back into biking I've been away 16years or so and the laws in the UK mean I have to start from scratch so I had planned on doing the cbt for now and running L plates until I can afford the big bike I want (Yamaha mt07 tracer) but for now I'm torn between a Yamaha mt125 2015plate for around 2grand or a brand new lexmoto viper for $1899 with 2 years warranty 1 years roadside assistance and some free gear helmet gloves ect, I know you cant go too wrong with jap and the lexmoto is Chinese but I hear its based on a 40 odd year old very reliable engine, so do I get new Chinese or 5years old jap ? further to this im 6 foot 2 and 17stone hence getting the tracer when I can afford it, so does anyone have experience on either the Yamaha or lexmoto bikes and are they suitable for taller riders ?, I get the top end wont be much more than 60mph given my size but it will mainly be used for city commuting I currently drive a honda crv to work and back and its just a waste not to mention sitting in traffic, anyways any help would be much appreciated
