  1. It's just a personal preference. I worked in the car industry some years back and the general vibe was if there was a fatality the car was crushed or scrapped for parts.
  2. Fatal accident damaged almost 15 years ago. Been in dry storage ever since. It will be declared scraped to the DVLA so unable to go back on the road and only used as a donor. Bike was running sweet prior to accident. Just over 27Km on the clock. Please view the pictures for description. Asking for £850 ono If you require more info or pictures, please let me know.
  3. Thanks for your input guys I really appreciate it. And yes, the plan is to donate all monies raised to a bike charity so the more the better. I do believe I'll raise more by splitting her into parts but as I can't bring myself to do this personally. Just so you are aware I've ridden the bike too, as it was my younger brothers bike. Great memories I have also kept it out of sight from other family and friends too. I'm leaning towards letting her go as is, so to be used as a donor. Only just over 27km on the clock too I've been offered £500. by a NC30 enthusiast so...parts of her will live on. However, I've no idea if this is a good price or not. ????
  4. Hello all, I'm new here so be gentle. Long story short I have a Honda VFR400R which is accident damaged and resulted in the riders' fatality. Now some people have told me that the bike should be crushed, which is on par with my general views too, others have to me to strip and sell for parts or sell complete to be used as a donor bike. I've also been told to fix her up and ride, but for personal reasons I don't feel I'll have the inner strength to do. So just curious on general opinions as the rider (RIP) saw the bike as his baby, had a lot of love which I, and I imagine many folk will truly understand, so part of me wants the bike to live on. What do you all reckon? On another note...how much do you think it will cost to put her right again? doesn't show in the pics but front wheel is damaged too. Thanks in advance

Thanks guys. Well I've put the battery on to see if it will charge, fingers crossed but after sitting for so long... WD-40, I totally agree it would be worth more but I also want to hear her purr again too. Be good to hear that sound and let it take me back. Just not sure if this should be posted in the for sale section and what price to put ???

Hello to all. I hope that all are well during these strange times. I love bikes but no longer ride, due to losing my little brother on one almost 15 years ago, hit-and-run, although I do long to get back on one, but that's a story for another time. Reason I joined is that since my brothers passing I have kept the bike in dry storage, plan was to fix it back up and put it in a glass box on show, never should she go back on the road I feel. Well that was a bitter sweet dream for me and I've since realised that that is never going to happen. I must now remove her from storage so, I thought best to sell on for parts perhaps, and donate what is raised to a worthy charity. Bike related. The bike in question is a Honda VFR400R F reg with just over 27000Km on the clock. I would prefer to sell complete and to someone who actually needs the donor parts rather than a dealer, as this way I known she will be put to good use on the road or track not just to make money. Not sure if this should be posted in the for sale section...any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
