    Clutch Issue??

Guys. Just an update. Checked side stand switch, cleaned and lubricated and seemed to be okay.Left the bike idling for quite a while, revved the bike a little and selected first gear and it clunked and stalled. Re started and let it run a while longer, and tried again selecting first gear and it didn't stall. Was able to select all gears. So took it out for a short ride, using the gears as much as possible and so far so good. Sounds ok, no clunking, whinning. So thank you all for your help and responses.

Fastbob. How easy are they to do?? I have never really tackled anything like that before. I have the Haynes Manual both hardback and a PDF Version.

    Clutch Issue??

Cheers - It doesn't seem to be? But I will give it a good clean and double check. The whole time I was working on the bike, or it was left, always had it on the main stand

    Clutch Issue??

Have not used my bike for a good 6 Months. Had an oil leak which I have managed to get round to looking at. Re-assembled my bike today and thought I would take it for some fuel. Started up okay. As soon as I engaged first gear, the bike stalled. Side stand was up, and whilst the bike was off the road, it was on its centre stand. I did try to push the bike whilst in gear but with the clutch lever pulled back, and it felt as though the clutch wasn't working. Wasn't able to free wheel the bike? Whilst bike was off the road, I have changed the plugs, air filter, new oil filter and oil which I changed today? Any suggestions/help would be very much appreciated. Bike is a 2002 Suzuki GSX 750 F
  7. Hi Guys. Some advice please. I have stripped parts of my bike down to try to locate and engine oil leak. I have had the bike nearly 5 years and the plugs and air filter have never been changed in that time. I reckon in that time I have covered no more than 3k in thast time. Do you think I should change the spark plugs and air filter whilst I have everything stripped down?
  8. Cheers rightstuff. Re the tyres, it was just something I had looked at. I suppose its different for cars than bikes. Then new one it is. Will have to shop around. I don't ever tend to rag the bike. As when I use it, it's my commuter to and from work and stuff. So do tend to be quite a careful rider. I was interested to see if anyone had ever bypassed their oil cooler. I thought in my case, I wanted to know if it was possible to do while I investigated where the oil leak is coming from, as I can't see behind the cooler very well.
  9. Hi Guys. Bike - Suzuki GSX750F 2002 plate - 34k. Have had a smallish oil leak for couple of years. Kept putting it off. I am not sure where the leak is, possibly high up in engine. I was hoping to remove tank, ( possible use small auxillary tank )all fairings, and didn't know if I could somehow remove oil cooler, and bypass it, so that I can at least run the bike to try to establish where its coming from. Have a few other things to try too. Caliper overhaul, and need to change rear tyre as badly cracked around the edge. Currently have an Avon Roadrunner on it. Pennies are a bit tight so wondered what peoples thoughts were on part worns?? I don't ride hard, nor do i do many miles. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Hi. I am the proud owner of a 2002 Suzuki GSX750F which has now covered about 34k. Over the last couple of years it has developed an oil leak. Not sure where its coming from and have been meaning to try and find out. So it is my intention to try to find it?? If I ask a stupid question, please be gentle with me. I am not that mechanically minded but not afraid of having a go at stuff.
