L plates get old pretty quick. I personally couldn't have been riding around with them on for a day longer than necessary. They're just kind of crap aren't they. But yes, if you're not bothered by them, CBT every two years for ever more.
  2. The quieter the better if you're a nervous type.
  3. Bloody hell that's a hell of a wait. I don't feel too big on it and hopefully don't look daft. If you sit on one you'll be pleasantly surprised.
  4. I live rurally, so after my CBT I had a 125cc for about a year and thoroughly enjoyed exploring back roads. Sort of roads you wouldn't want to go any faster on no matter what size the bike. If all I had was fast main roads the 125 would have been frustrating probably. After a year I did the lessons and got full license. Sold the 125 for what I paid and got something bigger. So no black white answer really.
  5. I am exactly 6ft 4 and have a 2019 cb500x. I find it perfectly comfortable. Two things though. If you are doing off road, knees are too bent for transitioning from seated to standing up a lot. I don't do off road. Buffetting on 2019 was horrible until I cut the screen down by a few inches (lower screens are available). The seat has a big dip and could easily have a couple of inches of foam added. I have no need for it, but might just for the hell of it. Worth having a test ride. Also, in current financial crisis, 89 mpg imperial is welcome.
  6. No to excessively loud from me. Selfish and ignorant. One person (the rider) likes it, while everyone else in earshot is annoyed. But, seems to fit in with current climate of 'screw everyone else I'll do what I want'.
  7. Ok I'm being dumb but how does the scam play out? If you get full price transferred into your bank is that not secure?
  8. I'm 6.4 and started with a Yamaha WR125x. I bloody loved it, but they seem pricey at the moment unfortunately. Good seat height and position.
  9. For me, the snowfoam bottle, although attached to the jet washer, has nowhere near the power of the raw jetwash nozzle output. The power of the jetwash is massively decreased, and what comes out the attached bottle is a lovely soft mass of foam. It isn't going to get into the bearings etc. I let the foam sit for 5 mins and wash off with a brush or sponge.
  10. I've got those same love handles for pillions. Bloody brilliant. Suits me, as the one thing I hate about biking is people trying to look cool!
  11. Tiny bit of WD40 on a rag lifts oil off easily. A million times easier than using detergent cleaning products.
  12. About 12 years old round fields on Bsa Bantam. Then 55 years old passed the test last year and got a modern bike.
  13. It is possible your 125 won't be fast enough to get up to the required speed in time for the speed recorder on Mod1. You have to go round a bend and accelerate up to a speed sensor 32mph before doing swerve and emergency stop. There's a diagram on the web somewhere showing the distances so you can try it out.
  14. It'll be easier next time. Your brain has had time to process it. It won't feel so new and alien when you go back.
