  1. Despite the censorship of this subject it is clear from the replies to a previous thread that it is a hot topic. If it bores you then don't read it - simples
  2. A good little cafe (only my opinion of course, I have no evidence to back this up ) Quieter and less crowded than Squires cafe and a lot cheaper. http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=477548#p477548
  3. Popped in there today and took some picies. Not a bad little setup, its not their full time business (he's a builder) but they are very enthusiastic about bikes and providing a venue for bikers to meet/party etc. Currently they are open Wednesday evenings, Saturday & Sunday 9am - 9pm Prices in the cafe are average, £1 for a mug of tea, £1.40 for a big bacon bap - they do cooked breky, omlettes etc to order. They did say that if you camped they would expect no cooking your own grub but would be happy to come to an arrangement over tea/coffee. Beer etc would be sold in the evening over the counter in tins/bottles and they would get in whatever was asked for. Toilets are porta-loo at the moment but they are under cover and plumbed into the main sewage. They plan to convert where the porta-loo's are at the moment into perm toilet/wash/shower rooms. One of the photos is of the inside but what it doesn't show is the comfy chair area just like a living room complete with TV/DVD. Enough room inside for I'd say up to 50 people and loads of room outside, so a smallish do is probably all you would want to go there for. All in all defo a site worth considering for a small weekend chill out or just somewhere to use as a base for a whole weekend of rideouts. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa311/kwakkwak1965/Image002-2.jpg http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa311/kwakkwak1965/Image001-2.jpg http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa311/kwakkwak1965/Image009.jpg http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa311/kwakkwak1965/Image005.jpg
  4. No better at all matey....... they wanted £69 for an Optimate Logged on to Busters and got the same one for £54 included delivery
  5. ST...... , AK...... or GW..... ?
  6. Never had any problems with Transit, engine problems and electrical. Shop around but you will find the price higher or around the same but whatever you do don't come to Harrogate, all 3 bike shops are a rip-off.
  7. Can't see any signs of a short or split cable so gonna recharge the battery and see what happens.
  8. Can you wreck the battery if you have a little spill??? I hit a pot hole in the car park at work and went down with the bike at very low speed (5mph max). Luckily no visible damage as the bike landed on me. Re-started fine and ridden the short 2 miles to home. Got up the following day and switched on the ignition...... nothing!!! No lights, no dash lights, no nothing. Checked main fuse - OK. Checked voltage in battery - 3V only!!! So my question is "could the spill have wrecked the battery and if so how?"
  9. Is this gonna go ahead, cos i need a date soon as have other things to do this year.
  10. As a newish newbie I'm obviously behind on this one..... I take it you are just waiting to confirm a date, venue etc. Date permitting you can count me in.
  11. Likewise, all part of the world domination plan Hope to see you on the road sometime. See ya for a pint (or 10) at the RBLR rally next year ??? Akey, didn't realise you were one of the chosen few as well. Saw your post on the RBLR forum about this very subject. Willow and you gonna make the RBLR rally ???
  12. Everyone is welcome to join the Royal British Legion http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/content/Legion-Membership-509086.shtml. The RBLR is just a branch of the RBL, same as you might have in your home town/city, but we don't have a club or building, the whole world is our club house All we ask is that you help and support fund raising for the Poppy Appeal. Link to RBLR: http://rblr.co.uk/
  13. Cossie & Akey you wont regret it, once your membership is processed you'll get a very exclusive welcome pack with all the info. The National 2009 Rally is 10th - 12th July and is a real hoot, have a look at the photos once you get on the website, St Trinians theme You'll be surprised where you meet other RBLR members, I haven't yet found a bike club/forum that doesn't have at least 1. The fund raising for the Poppy appeal is all channeled into having fun at lots of events all over the country, bike shows, rallies and anything else where bikers hang out. And its all done with that well known (but not always understood) military humour Hope to meet you both soon, till then.... Ride Safe Andy
  14. Should be able to tell by the frame/engine number - and yes a Honda dealer would be able to tell you exactly what model you have.
