Aw shucks guys thanks for the birthday wishes, another year older and all that..... nman - its ticking along nicely up here just now, still having to grapple with the odd dodgy proposal though - bloody architects!

The tag for Glen Coe - should it be the King House Hotel instead of the Kings Head? I'd better register again this year - looks like another good 'un!

Also in Dumfries and Galloway: Sweeheart Abbey: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweetheart_Abbey Dundrennan Abbey: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dundrennan_Abbey Now i know the link (if it works) if for a golf course but it is in an amazing, quiet little bay and if you follow the road down the outlook at the beach is fantastic: http://goo.gl/maps/HqTNF And finally to the Mull of Galloway - the most southerly point in Scotland: http://mull-of-galloway.co.uk/ Combined this is a fantastic day out - don't say i'm not good to you lot! -
Brilliant roads mate. Stop off at the wee coffee shop at Carsphairn. Really nice wee place and biker friendly. It's just like a wee house. Was down that way yesterday, but cut across to Moniaive from Dalry (the better road this time), to Thornhill, Dalveen Pass, and Abington, then up the road before Revs had to go to work. Did some of the reverse on Saturday - Abington, Crawford, Elvanfoot and down Dalveen, Moniaive, Dumfries, Moffat. I see a lot of the roads have been resurfaced

Left work early today (one of the benefits of Cooncil flexi time!) and lets face it, it would have been rude not to with the weather been so nice Thought i'd head for the coast and turn my 22 mile trip home into 80 odds, through Largs, Weymss Bay, Port Glasgow - nobody any the wiser Eaglesham Moor http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad266/samcrow_photo/230520121388.jpg Arran in the distance http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad266/samcrow_photo/230520121389.jpg

I did the Cumbrian Way years ago with the Scouts, only about 90 miles but it was good fun (not exactly coast to coast though!). The West Highland way is very popular and busy but scenery is beautiful. I used to live on the SUW - not done the whole thing but covered the ground between St Mary's Loch and Dalry many times, couple of nice bothy's along the way we used to frequent I might - but only might - still have the map+guidebook combo's for the SUW in a cupboard at my mum's, i'll have a look next time i'm there - you are more than welcome to them if i have. -

Nothing like freshly painted and rebuilt calipers eh? Looking good! -
I'll give most folks a nod or a wink if i see them, not if i'm filtering though for obvious reasons. As with most places its a bit hit and miss if you get one back, sometimes the stereotypes apply (i.e no nods from Harley's or GS's) sometimes not. I have to say that when i was up in Moray on Sunday, every bike i saw without exception either waved or nodded - friendly folk in whisky country Oh, and i don't nod at Ratser 'cos he drives to work

'Twas my wee brothers stag do at the weekend - off to Aviemore on the bike it was. Had all day and wanted some tags for Challenge 100 and a couple of others from another photo rally that i'm doing, so up the A82 it was, stopped at Drovers, Green Welly, Glencoe, Maccy D's, Commando Memorial, somewhere after Fort William - wee bit of snow at Fort Augustus, Inverness and finally Aviemore (well actually we stayed in Granton on Spey). Came home on Sunday, i was so fecking hungover i went straight down the A9 - ran into a few miserable sleety/haily/rainy showers. Couple of snaps (only from Friday - couldn't be ar$ed stopping on Sunday and the ones from Fri night and Sat aren't for public consumption ): http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad266/samcrow_photo/040520121345.jpg http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad266/samcrow_photo/040520121348.jpg http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad266/samcrow_photo/040520121349.jpg Ok, just one from the stag then: http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad266/samcrow_photo/050520121357.jpg You couldn't see much of the target at then end
