  1. Will update with prices etc when I know.... Cheers
  2. Hi Guys, Well everything was going so well with my (new to me) Rf600R and then the other day it started coughing and acting strange. Took it in to my regular bike repair place and it turns out that one of the coils that fires pistons 2-3 has gone!! They rang back today and can only get me a original Suzuki on at £81. Had a quick look on ebay and I have found a company that sell after market ones for £30 So going with that as money is tight. Will take it down to the garage when the part arrives. Oh well all this nice weather and I'm stuck in the car again
  3. Like the look of it too. I have signed up for the e-mail news letter as they seem to get some quite good biker stuff now and again!!
  4. Just a quick question..... somebody suggested putting redex in my bike. May sound stupid but just wondered what everyone thought about it? Is it any good?
  5. Cheers Guy's Yeh it was well on reserve when I filled up so maybe. It's a couple of days down the line now and "touch wood" since then it hasn't nissed a beat!!! When will this weather pick up!!! It's rained for days over here in East Riding of Yorkshire. Want to get out camping but don't reckon on this week.
  6. Thanks for that, will defo have a good read of this. Might help me better through the corners as this is a area I know I am weak in!!!!
  7. Yeh, Cheers Ian. That was what I was hoping for so wound it out a bit on the way to work. It's just when something goes like that you think "OK now what"
  8. Hi Guy's My RF600R that I bought around a month ago has been brilliant so far with no probs and a whole different world from my GS500 Until today.....was nothing major (I hope) but when I set off to work today after filling petrol up (Don't know if this is linked) as I approached the first roundabout I noticed the engine sounded different and there was spluttering and spitting when I was reving. It was realy slugish till it hit about 3-4000rpm then it would pick up. This only lasted about 5mins then it was back to been fine reving lovely responsive etc... any ideas?? It has been raining alot dont know if this has anything to do with it. I keep the bike under a rain cover at night. Cheers
  9. Sounds like a great idea and a good day out. Think I will have a look at what's going on. Anyone else comming from our area??
  10. Hi Guy's, just came across this event in my local free paper and thought it might be of interest! Scanned the ad for you as the website didn't give any info?? Bit wierd. Anyway looks like a good day out
  11. Hi Guys, Haven't posted for a while. Bike is having quite a bit done to it and is in the garage. Just waiting to get it back as the weather is getting better and I'm stuck in the car going to work:) Just been to the local tesco's in Beverley and at the lights was a group of about 8-10 bikes looking like they were having a nice ride out!!!! Just wondering if anyone from here was on the ride as I know quite a few of us are from the Hull East/yorkshire Area.
  12. I did mine in second too, was told to come out of the corner in second and then "Gun it" which worked a treat for me. Can't see how it would work in 3rd though.
  13. Thanks once again for all your help. I have slackend the chain off a bit as I did not realise that the 20-30mm was with load It now seems fine.
  14. Thanks guys for the help so far!! I made sure when I tightened the chain that I turned equal on each side, To be honest the chain wasn't well lubricated and I lubricated it at the same time. Just had a look at the GS manual I have and it says between 20mm - 30mm. I noticed I was getting a judering noise before I tightened the chain which on some posts on here suggests the chain is to slack. That has gone now and I am left with this whirring noise at about 10mph as I am slowing and speeding up. Just worried if it's dangerous.
  15. Hi Guys, I have managed to get round to tightening my chain today and after I have done this I had a little test ride and noticed that there is a whirring sound coming from what sounds like the front sprocket at low speed ? I have tightened it so that there is about 20mm play on the chain also the tyre isn't catching on anything seems to be aligned OK? Was wondering if 20mm is to tight? Cheers in advance
