    Honda - CG125

Honda CG125 (pic is set as my dp) love this bike practically runs on air- 1 tank of fuel takes me 200 miles and i still have fuel left (and thats without touching the reserve!) brilliant first bike takes a good bit of knocking about -i did fall off a couple of times engines are pretty much bullet proof kick start first time every time- never had to use the choke (even in icy weather when i perhaps shouldn't have been taking her out) really easy to take apart and put together. good for learning some basic mechanics Would definitely recommend as a first bike ( i even bought my younger sister one!) downers... erm... few and far between headlight is a bit dull didn't come with a side stand as standard so it is possible to ride off with the side stand down :/ thats about it really. I've had my cg for 2 yrs and have now passed my full test definitely recommend as a learner bike or just something for an economical run around cheap for parts bought the bike for £300 from a man that had left it in a shed for over 3 years!!! scrubbed it up and have since been offered 500!!

  3. condition seems fine and no its not jumping i think my bike is just weird
  4. now i know that speedometers naturally over read but after a lond distance journey on the way home my speedo started telling me i was off the speedo doing about 85 mph (speedo goes up to 70). now bearing in mind i'm on a 125 that was pretty impressive. especially as i wasnt even in the red! (My bf was riding with me and his speedo was reading 65) i know that if the pin wobbles or stops reading the cable has snapped but i have no idea what it means if it just randomly over reads. The error isnt too bad at low speed. ie at 30mph it reads just a touch over 30mph as it naturally should. however at higher speeds it is reading waaaaay over! any ideas? thanks
  5. i consulted my haynes before i did it and found that out too
  6. it's cuz i'm always out and about on my bike ah the freedom!! so i'm hardly ever on my laptop nice to know yu miss me tho lol
  7. there is a screw that controlls your fuel/air mixture hav you checked that?
  8. get a haynes manual everything yu will ever need to know in em sorry i can't name your oil lol
  9. i think it all comes down to personal preference really, both have to be made to safety standards so. . . i'm a leathers girl but as far as i know they both do the same job of savin yur but cheeks when yu hit the road lmao
  10. oh duh lol that seems quite obvious now ah well its all a learning curve ye i've ordered another tonight cheers for the tip
  11. bit of a random question, maybe one some of yu may think silly or obvious but i dont know so what can cause a speedo cable to snap? i was gong round a corner today an my pin went to 0mph needless to say i was rather confused so i checked the cable when i got home to find out it had snapped just wondered what causes them to do so
  12. i'm very pleased to be able to let you all know that i PASSED!!
  13. ok so had my CBT today everything went really well but i ultimately failed lol heres my little anecdote that yu can all have a laugh at SO. . . the day started really well i had a good nights sleep was feeling good and went in a bit nervous but i figure thats normal lol there was me and one other guy who was doin a cbt before his proper test. so i had the safety talk got geared up got onto the geared 125 i would be riding and went out to the pad, everything was fine i hardly ever stalled had a few problems with the zig zag but apart from that all great dinner break on to the road!! i was absolutely terrified at this point and the instructer took us a few times round the block which got my confidence up loads and then we rode round for ages lol i stalled at a massive roundabout in the town center and made alot of angry dirver 'friends' haha. but hey it was my first time on a bike so so it was all good my gear changes were smooth and i even managed to get some real speed up, my only problem was forgetting to turn off my indicator ( more times than i could count ) The instructor was a great guy thought i was doin really well and put me infront so thats when the real fun started for some reason i came to a junction did my mirror, lifesaver, moved over went to overtake lost contol and ended up a heap under the bike in the middle of the road i managed to smash the right mirror and smash the front light and really hurt my leg nice one karen i then had some stupid woman honkin her horn to tell me to get outta the road, then she tried to run me over at which time the instructer saved my ass! i was a bit of a mess but thought screw it i'm getting back on that bike and drivin it back to the school!! so i did much to the insructers surprise lol obviously due to this i failed an was pretty miffed with myself so tomorrow i have 4 more hours of road practice I'll let you know how i get on cant do any wose than today tho eh??
  14. this is mine i look really fat in my textile jacket tho lol
  15. I have a CG (2002) its my first bike and i am absolutely in love with it. I bought it from a neighbor who had left it sitting in his shed for 2 years it sounded a bit funny when it was first run but i decided to take the chance and get it. I cleaned her up, gave her some petrol and charged the battery after which it sounded perfect . So far i've not had a single problem with the bike while learning to ride it on private land (i have my CBT on 16th January) i've now changed the oil and cleaned the filter and it sounds even smoother. I personally love the bike its the perfect height for me and from what i've heard they are very reliable bikes
