Motorcycling and Mental Health - Ride out
by
StoneySoprano » Wed Sep 19, 2018 7:52 am
I've recently returned to biking as a treatment for depression and anxiety. Many of my friends and family think I'm crazy, saying things like if you want an adrenaline rush to clear your mind, go for a run or if you want to relax, do something like Yoga or Mindfulness ! It does make me wonder if these people know me 🤔! Anyway I've just got a new bike (Honda CMX500 Rebel) in September and planning to ride to work, but anyone interested in some shortish ride outs over the winter, perhaps adhoc as...

Bit of a long shot but anyone local or planning a ride out up this way over the next 10 days? I’m working in Thurso (travelled from Manchester) and I’ve brought my bike in the van so I can ride some of the local roads and take a photo of my bike at the John o’ groats sign of course!

Service in Edinburgh
by
Luiceur » Sat Jun 23, 2018 6:10 pm
I have a Honda Vision 110 from 2012 which seriously needs to see a good mechanic. I am new to the area of motorbikes in Edinburgh and I was wondering if you could recommend a trustworthy mechanic.
I have booked with Harley Davison but I am worry they are not used to scooters and could also be very expensive. What about Mark1? I live in Morningside by the way.
Thanks for the help.

First time to Scotland
by
Xavy_Mazu » Fri Jul 21, 2017 5:04 pm
Hi
I´ll go to Scotland from the 4 to the 14 of august.
I'll start the trip on the 2 of august, travel by France and in two days ai¡ll take the ferry Calais-Dover. Then I'll go to Edimburg. Let's see! The first time driving in the wrong side angel , speed in miles and unknowing radars.
At the moment, I have booking where to sleep, and after talking with some friends who visited Scotland or live in Britain, and some other british motards I'm think the routes:
Edimburgo 4-7 AUGUST
Nairn 7-8...

Out And About
by
martynmcg » Thu Nov 06, 2008 1:32 am
Just a thread to stick up any info when you're heading out for a quick blast instead of a new thread every time. Thinking a few dozen posts are easier to look through than a few dozen scattered topics.
So further from Stu kindly pointing out our bad posting habits  this thread is for posting when you decide to go out, maybe on the off chance or even plan a couple of days in advance. Whatever you decide.
I'll start..... this Sunday coming. 9th Nov. Glasgow, weather permitting. So far...

October/November rideout for the north of the border folk!
by
martynmcg » Sun Oct 05, 2014 6:37 pm
Or even south of the border folk, if they are willing to travel!
Appreciate that it's starting to get colder (and will continue to do so) but that doesn't mean to say we can't ride out. Nothing a fleece and a spine can't solve
I'll be back in the UK around the 3rd week in October until mid-November, so I was possibly thinking about hitting the A82/A83 to Inveraray or even head down to Troon or Saltcoats.... somewhere that does a decent fish supper! Nothing is set in stone, we can...

There be gold in them there hills..
by
Throttled » Tue Sep 04, 2012 6:39 pm
Had an explore and Abington to the A76 via Leadhills and Wanlockhead (B797) is a great road and climb
... 1&t=m&z=11
The Mennock Pass down from Wanlockhead to the A76 is the best part, twisting, narrow and I saw people panning for gold in the river!
The road surface is good, just watch for sheep.

20+ Girls Bikers Passed on Rideout
by
PabloK42 » Mon May 21, 2012 11:09 am
Me and my brother took the bikes out for a quick rideout over to Loch Lomond as the weather was fine last night. The ride was was better by passing a group of 20+ female riders (Pretty sure they were all female) going the other way led by a lassie in a pink helmet!
It was great to see, and by the way, everyone one the waved/nodded (Per previous nodding topic) - Thats the way it should be.
If you were one of these females - Made my night, you all looked great!!
Cheers
