Michelin Pilot 4
by
Smithers » Wed Mar 20, 2019 11:40 am
Not much to add to the reviews on here. I fitted a new set of pilot 4's at the end of October last year. A rear puncture on the Honda fitted Dunlop's was a blessing in disguise as I was never very happy with them. The Michelins transformed the bike completely giving amazing grip in the wet and more confidence in cornering. A great tyre and well worth the outlay.

Metzeler 888's
by
Jetlag Jon » Sun Nov 25, 2018 12:34 am
These are by far the best tyres I have had on my Harley Softail Slim. I have tried Michelin Scorcher and Dunlop but the 888's are much better in the wet or on dry roads. They don't tend to follow tar lines and get up to temperature pretty quickly. In the wet I have more confidence than I have had with any other tyre. IMO they have improved the handling of the bike.
I get about 8000 miles from a rear, 12000 from a front, but I don't run them below 2mm.
The only downside is they take a bit of...

Michelin Pilot Road 4 - on track
by
Mr Fro » Wed Feb 01, 2017 7:10 pm
Towards the end of last year a friend asked me to join him on his first noddy track day at Snet. The weather was a bit scabby at the time so I scratched about for some second hand wets but failed to find any. I already had some PR4 on my road zx6r and have been well impressed by them so reasoned that I could get another set and use them as an intermediate on the ZXR for track purposes. If they were crap then I could always use them on the road bike.
The day was cold and misty with a...

Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC
by
Mr Fro » Wed Jul 16, 2014 4:58 pm
These went on my ZXR750 track bike a couple of weeks ago to replace the Dragon SC that it came with. I don’t know how many days the old ones had done but they were from 2008 and had started to get some scary looking cracks on the wall. They didn’t look particularly worn even though I did a few days on them myself and regularly use the bike for commuting. I’ve heard people say that they get hundreds of miles out of them before they need replacing but given I’d done a few hundred on track and...

Metzeler M7RR's
by
Whitey1984 » Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:31 am
Right then, time to review the M7rr's now ive put a decent amount of mileage on them.
Not the cheapest tyre's i paid about £220 for a pair fitted to loose wheels, However they have filled me full of confidence, they just grip and grip, leant over they are nice and stable and they drop in reassuringly well and not too quickly for a sports tyre's, although if you give it a good shove it will drop on its side faster then a granny on ice.
Have to see what sort of mileage I'll get i reckon about...

Michelin pilot road 3
by
dimmers » Tue Nov 22, 2011 12:16 pm
Switched to these tyres as i wanted an 'all year round' tyre, and something that would give me more mileage that what i was using.
Only done 1000 miles so far, but first impressions are good.
- less tracking than my previous tyre (Bridgestone BT012s)
- very good wet weather performance
- good grip in wet and dry
- still look pretty much brand new after 1000 miles
haven't taken a picture of the front, but that's in equally a good condition.
just a few further details, as i know there are...

bridgestone bt023
by
techno » Thu May 31, 2012 1:47 am
Well now ive give them a real good go in all conditions I have to say i am mightily impressed with these tyres, they were perfectly grippy even before the so called 100 mile scrub in, they were sure footed in the wet both on normal roads and at ahem motorway speeds and last weekend i went out in the blazing summer we just had and got more lean and grip from these than the previous michellins, however that would have to be expected as they were bog standard pilot roads and £50 a pair cheaper....

Michelin Pilot Road 4
by
Mr Fro » Wed Jul 16, 2014 4:53 pm
I put PR4 on my ZX6r a couple of months ago to replace the ageing Bridgestone BT016 tyres.
I spent ages dilly-dallying about, wondering if I should go for these or the Pilot Power as I wanted something that would suit my riding style and look the part. After reading the reviews and talking to a trusted bike mechanic I took the plunge.
I was concerned that they would be a bit too sports tourer for my liking but having done ~1.5K mile on them in various road conditions I’m really glad I got...

Bridgestone S20
by
Matt Strange » Sat Oct 13, 2012 1:12 pm
Easy, short review, definitely the best tyres I've ever had on a bike . I've ridden in all sorts of conditions, bar track, on these tyres & haven't wanted for anything, the grip, turn in, feedback, braking stability is all spot on. Only thing is that I can't comment on is the wear rate as such, 1000 miles and they have at least 4-5mm tread left so o.k. so far.
Fitted to Honda CBR900RR'S' Fireblade, 1995 model (if you look in the reviews section, the Fireblade 20th anniversary I took out for a...

Michelin Pilot Activ
by
Bonniebird » Sun Jul 01, 2012 8:26 pm
V impressed - replaced my BT45s (Bonneville standard) with the Michelins (front and back). I didn't want to go for the current Triumph recommended Metzelers because they seem to have bad reviews.
The improved handling is like night and day, almost like having a new bike (the BTs were pretty squared off though). Much less tramlining and the grip seems really good. I haven't ridden in really wet conditions yet, just showers.
I've done a few hundred miles so far so I'll see if things change as...

Michelin Road Pilot 2CT
by
XmisterIS » Thu Sep 01, 2011 11:25 am
Whoo! First post in the subforum! 8-)
Michelin Road Pilot 2CT, fitted to my SV, bought on 'tinternet, fitted by my local Suzuki place.
They replaced the stock tyres I had on before, and WHAT a difference!
When they're brand new, the profile is perhaps a little too cambered, but they don't take long to scrub in.
They are as grippy as buggery and seem to wear well so far. I have never slipped on them once, even in rain, and i feel much more confident into corners. The old tyres had an...

Mobile Tyre Fitter - Thames Valley (recommendation)
by
dwb » Thu Oct 06, 2011 5:47 pm
Got back from a long ride last week and was shocked to find that my rear tyre was completely shot - the rubber had worn right through and you could see the metal band around at least half of the tyre. I thought it wasn't as grippy...
Anyway, too risky to ride to get a new tyre, so googled for a mobile tyre service in the Thames valley and stumbled across GS Motorcycle Tyres in Wokingham.
Found a couple of stellar on-line reviews and booked them for first thing this morning. Gary (the owner)...
