Eifel Mountains 2018
by Bungleaio » Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:06 pm
I write this with 11 days to go before quite possibly the best way to round off my first year of riding, a week trip to the Eifel Mountains in Germany on my Street Triple.
I put together an introduction thread when I signed up for the site which I updated a few times with my riding story. When I posted about getting the Street Triple at the end of March Gerontious asked if I was going to be putting luggage on the bike, a few messages backwards and forwards later and I had agreed to go on tour...

First Timer (Also fairly new to biking)
by Scox91 » Tue Feb 19, 2019 4:10 pm
Hi All,
I am relatively new to biking and a bit of a nervous nelly about doing things like this but I would absolutely love to try maybe doing a weekend riding in France via Eurotunnel (using my own bike) at the end of September if the wallet allows.
Just wondering if any of you recommend it and if so where a good route would be? Id like to do some nice scenery and road riding (I have a ninja 400 so off roading wouldn't work well). Would like to know if the side of France id come out on would...

We're going in the summer as a family group thing, not on the bike. Any pointers for sightseeing, accommodation things to do and not to would be grateful.

Matlock to salou
by Rizla » Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:03 pm
Finally got the trip booked that years ago was going to do but for a dozy woman driver knocking me off and wrighting my bike off.
I have the Portsmouth Balboa ferry booked for early September and returning after 2 weeks.
Day one consists of a steady run to horsham to stay overnight at the daughters house.
Day two is a fairly early start to get to portmouth ferry terminal by eight for check in, then sit in limbo till docking in Balboa.
Day three and the run to salou.
According to the timetable,...

UK and Europe best routes?
by SidG » Tue Dec 18, 2018 12:44 pm
Hi all,
Really enjoyed my first year of riding, wasn't a bad British summer was it? Now looking forward to doing lots more miles in 2019. I'm based in the West Midlands, so forward planning, if you guys had to pick one weekend away for riding in the UK and one week away in Europe, what would be your top picks?
A very open ended question I know, but I'm trying to take my mind off thinking about how long I have to wait for winter to be over and do some longer trips.
Cheers

Vignettes
by gogs01 » Tue Nov 13, 2018 7:28 pm
I travelled through several countries this year and, for those which I knew required motorcycles to have vignettes, I bought them either on line or at the border.
I didn't get a vignette for Hungary and I'm now in danger of having to pay a fine of nearly £400 !
For next year I want to have a list of all the countries of Europe (West and East) which require MOTORCYCLES to have a vignette to travel on the highways. Where the vignette can be bought in advance on line that would be an...

Nepal 2019
by mikenepal64 » Thu Oct 25, 2018 3:21 am
I am planning a tour in Nepal in April of 2019 including a 220km run from Kathmandu to Pokhara of 200 - 300 Royal Enfields on the Nepali New Years Eve an annual event that raises funds for local charities called The Poker Run .
I will also include 10 days around Nepal on Bikes and adventure activities such as paracending flights, rafting and Elephant Safari (it would make a cracking Christmas present or chance to see one of the most beautiful countries in the world)

India-UK 2021

Hi everyone.
I’m 16, and looking potentially for a partner(s) to ride classic Royal Enfields from India to UK. I’m currently unsure what route to take, whether it’s possible to ride through China or whether going through war zones is risky (stupid thing to say). Also, if anyone is perhaps interested in going on this epic tour with me,
let me know!

Plus up another mountain near Thusis (sat nav error 20 km one way and had to come back down same way) though was a fun ride good views with very curvy roads.

Tour of Wales
by londonstreetrider » Mon Oct 08, 2018 12:53 pm
I just discovered the amazing beauty of riding through Wales. I decided to plan a 1000 mile route through The Brecon Beacons, up the Coast to Snowdonia and back down via Elan Vally.
I took a trip of Barmouth Bridge (highly recommended) and found some (potentially naughty) off-road sections around Elan Vally.
I'm certainly going to try and get back there before the end of the year. Any recommendations?
If you want to check out the highlights of the Tour, I just uploaded a video to YouTube....

passing through the Lake district

Can anyone suggest the most enjoyable and scenic route through the Lake District. I'm travelling south to north with Kendall being my starting point ,I'm actually going to be on my way to Scotland but I don't mind deviating a bit to take in the best bits . I might camp overnight but I've already been to Castlerigg campsite above Keswick so similar alternatives would be most welcome.

Lancashire to Hamburg
by Oasis » Wed Jun 21, 2017 7:46 pm
Hi TMBFers!
I've decided to ride over to Hamburg to see some family out there. Leaving mid July.
I finish work on the Friday at 18:00 and want to get there by Saturday evening, to meet my wife who is flying out. Returning Tuesday.
Now, the ferrys where always my preferred option. But for a couple of days away, it's too bloody expensive! £350 return from Hull or New Castle. Apart from Horwich, which is about £150. But the latest departure is 23:00 and I won't make it in time. Next departure...
