Adding your location!!

#1 Post by Roadtorque » Fri Dec 19, 2008 1:50 pm

A long while ago I generated a post about the lack of the one bit of
information on members profile,, that being your location,,,,,,

let me explain,, bike chat/general chat time & time again on these
sites there are pleas or requests for help with one problem or another,,
It's no good me living by chester, telling someone how good X, Y, Z,
bike school or dealer is, in answer to a question raised by a member
who may be living in devon,, It would just be waste of time,,

When I see a post for help, the first thing I do is look at your profile
if this is blank then I ignore it, (Sorry),, It's the same with rideouts,,
Any one out for a ride,,,,,,,,,,, were the hell do you live,,,,,,,

Come on peeps fill it in,, I don't like to ignore you, makes me feel guilty
It's not about,, IF or HOW,
It's just about,, WHEN

And Merry Christmas!!

Roadtorque... Official TMBF Moaner!! :D :D

He has a point though. We are not looking for an exact address, just a city or town nearest to where you live.... It does help things get organised better and can often lead to meetups and all sorts happening!!

Dont bring me into this!!

Have to say, its one thing that drives me mad too.... we could make it essential at registration, but then you get people being clever and putting UK or The Moon!!

Should we stick this up in Newbies section at the top?? Can a mod do it if they think its a good idea, cos im off out to PARTY!!

Thats a good idea Carleen :D If not a drop-down of towns, a list of regions like those in the Bike Meets section or counties?

Trouble is with regions and a drop-down box is that I'm not sure which region I am... midlands or east anglia. Could you put a big list of counties? I know what county I'm in :D

at the top right of your screen there is a user control panel. click on it, and using the bits on the ledt, you can change loads of stuff, including profile.
