New Here

#1 Post by brad93 » Thu Jan 03, 2019 2:41 pm

Hey all,

thought I would sign up and introduce myself as I am looking to get myself a bike in 2019 and I have no biker friends lol!

Anyway I am Brad and live in South Leicestershire. I did my CBT back in August and loved it! Instructor said I took to it very naturally and could go on to do my DAS when I've done my Theory. I am currently trying to revise when possible which is a struggle when working full time and try to get my side business off the ground but plan to just book it in the next month or two and see what happens.

I am still in two minds as to whether I should get a 125 to get some more experience this year or whether to just get my full test done and get myself a decent starter bike (currently looking at ER6-N) which i'll mainly use to go work in the summer as well as some weekend blasts and once my confidence is built up eventually some trips up North to Scarborough way to visit the parents.

Anyway be good to know if there is much going on in the Midlands over summer if I do decide to do my DAS!

Cheers
Brad

Hi Brad, I'd go for the full test if i were you, unless you have restrictions.
South Leicestershire? must be fairly near me!

Yeah I am swaying towards full licence, 26 in a couple months so no restrictions. I am Broughton Astley way (if that counts as South Leicestershire?!)

Hello, welcome :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Lots to be said for having a 125 and lots to be said for going straight into DAS, whichever you choose I suspect you’ll be happy but it’s not long after you’ve had a 125 that your longing for something more! It’s easy to hire a 125 cheaply in a lot of places including from training schools so maybe hire a 125cc for a week and that’ll probably give you a clear idea.
2018 BMW R nineT
“It’s shit. And as soon as I get home I’m going to buy one.”
That was a fellow journalist’s first impression of the BMW R nineT recently. It’s a pretty accurate summary; the R nineT is somewhat ill-mannered by modern motorcycle standards but also instantly, inarguably, infatuatingly wonderful.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I think I’m gonna have to suck it up and just book the theory for next month or something so if I fail I’ve got time to retake before I end up missing the summer again
