Most gatherings see many hundreds of bikers gather for a chat and something to eat whilst bike mad onlookers can inspect the machinery and chat to the bikers about their machines. There is always a vast variety of both two, and even some three wheel machines on display – most of them in absolutely pristine condition gleaming in the sunshine.
BMAD also hold an annual 3 day festival in May on Paignton seafront – this year was the 13th year - which includes live music and stalls selling everything a biker could ever desire including a new bike!
For the first time this year they are also organising a 3 day Zom-B-Mad Festival at Lady’s Mile Holiday Park, Dawlish in early October.
From these various events the objective is to raise money for public benefit in providing funding to sick, disabled and disadvantaged young people up to the age of 19 in the TQ (Torbay) area. Other charities that benefit include Devon Freewheelers (Blood Bikes), St. John Ambulance, Torbay Young Carers and Devon Air Ambulance because they also provide services to the people of Torbay.
