I'm going to call this post - Secret British Isles

The idea is you post a pic from somewhere scenic in the British isles that maybe not a lot of people necessarily know about and add its location coordinates or post code or What3words

Here's one we stumbled over on a hike, I need to save up for it !

Blackpool Mill Cottage, Hartland. The cottage was used as a film location for Rosamunde Pilcher’s ‘The Shell Seekers’ with Vanessa Redgrave and Maximillian Schell and in 2007 for Andrew Davies’ adaptation for the BBC of ‘Sense and Sensibility’ with Dan Stevens, Dominic Cooper, David Morrissey, Janet McTeer and Charity Wakefield. In 2015 the BBC filmed scenes for ‘The Night Manager’ by John Le Carre with Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman and Tom Hiddleston in and around the cottage.

FastBob that really is in the middle of nowhere :thumb:

Swagman Coordinates is fine, as it goes I think What3words is more user friendly & as FastBob said, could save your bacon with it being adopted by 999 now :thumb:

I cycled there from Fort William via Skye then I did a circular tour of North Uist followed by a journey down to Eriskay ( Whiskey Galore ) and then over to Bara to get the Oban ferry . Not bad for a bike out of a skip .

Here's some pictures of the Arnamurchan peninsula . I cycled from Fort William to Kilchoan in a day once , a distance of 78 miles with the last 10 miles by starlight . I also went there by GSXR . I don't know which was the more gruelling . There are 22 miles of single track twisting road where you will never get out of second gear and it was agony on the wrists . In the first picture you can see a massive extinct volcano that you can drive through . And petrol is available at Kilchoan but only when it suits the locals , and quite right too .

Yes, I guess but don’t know that a lot of people don’t go the other side. Where I tagged is about as far as is reasonable to go without proper winter boots and maybe crampons in the winter. You can feel emerald in a winter mountain scene in a way I had not known was possible in the uk.
