Why do you never take it over 8k rpm??

That's where the fun starts!! Stop short-shifting and let it rev higher.

 

I'd agree with you if i was still on the 600. This bike seems to have power everywhere though.

Keeping an s1000rr below 8k rpm, you may as well be riding a 600.

At 8k they are only making about 100bhp. You need to rev them to get the real power so if you think it's powerful at 8k, just wait until you get in to the higher revs, you'll feel like it's trying to snap you arms off the first few time!
