190 mile jaunt to Wiltshire

Post by rob m » Mon Jun 08, 2020 4:20 pm

Took the bike out for a good rag today. Set off at 8am and headed west from Surrey, down the A29 from Dorking then along the A272 to Winchester then made my way to Salisbury. Rode up to Devizes, saw Stonehenge from a distance then basically reversed the same route home.

Not many pictures, the only time I stopped was for petrol, a piss and to eat my sandwiches. I did wash my hands before and after each of these events

Having a pee except behind a tree is getting increasingly difficult as all the public loos are closed except on motorways.
Back in the blue. No bikes.....

you should have let me know.. its a nice ride south from here down the Fosse... to Avebury. and Avebury (to me at least) is far more impressive than Stonehenge.

maybe next time.

My work has changed somewhat to a 2 day week.. with the hours made up by "waking nights" - so, i have more free time.
A wonderful thing is work, I could watch it all day.

I pee'd in full view of the passing traffic, rather that than use shared toilets :D

Cool, will let you know mate. I'm flat out at work and have only 1-2 days off a week. Avebury would be good or we could split the difference and head for the Chiltern Hills? There's a thought.

As for Stonehenge. For a pile of stones, it still impresses the hell outta me!

Great ride - I've done it myself. In a car, sadly.
