Well done @learningtofly, looking forward to the mod 2 write up where you tell us about these moments.

I'm going to guess that one was accidentally pulling an epic wheelie after a junction, but luckily the examiner was caught behind a car so didn't see it

Thank you so much, everyone! I did pick up a few minors, mostly from a mixture of nerves and back pain. However, the two that stood out were:

1) Failing to overtake a learner (car) driver on a dual carriageway. I did think about it, but missed an opportunity to pull out safely before a line of traffic got too close; after that we were approaching some lights so I decided not to do anything that might be considered imprudent. The examiner said I definitely should have gone for it, though.

2) Going a little too quickly as I went past a bin lorry that was stationary between parked cars on either side of the road. Thinking about it, that one was a fair cop.

The others were just very minor, not helped by the fact that my bad back was hurting me a lot and was proving to be a bit more of a distraction than I'd hoped. Oh, and I was fine with my indicating, which I thought might result in a minor at least as I have a habit of leaving them on that I need to eradicate. Overall, I'm happy with my performance, although I'd have liked a clean sheet really... not that it matters now, right? Looking forward to increasing my knowledge and experience, though, and I'm going to take an advanced course with the training school in the spring.

Anyway, thanks for all the lovely support, and I'll post some photos of my new bike tomorrow. I'm collecting at at about 9.30 in the morning :thumb:

From what I can see if you signed the contract at the dealership there is no cooling off period. If you signed at home or did the deal over the phone (basically anywhere away from the premises) you have up to 14 days after taking delivery.
Happy to be told I'm wrong, believe this is the case with cars so assume the same with bikes. Have you got paperwork with any ts and cs that might tell you?

This is 100% correct . Over the phone or on the high street you get 14 days cooling off on the premises you get nothing.

I bought a car from empress car sales years ago I had such a good deal I signed there and then . Then like a dick I jumped in .Then when I was at home that night I read the contract the car was 15K time I paid it off in 5 years it was over 30K yea 30 grand .so next day I went in to the bank to see about cancling the DD .to them the bank guy looked at me like I shat myself they told me I could not cancle due to being on there premises (I had free legal advice with my bank ) so the bank called the car place and change the DD to a standing order then I borrowed the money off the bank and paid the Car off there and then then paid the bank less then 20K over 3 years ..

One thing this new bike is it like the grass is greener on the other side . . It never is just stick with the one you bought .

My mate passed lately with a few minors. I asked him what they were for, he started explaining, then I laughed and said 'it's entirely irrelevant - let's ride!" And for that reason I didn't read the above :-) Go ride.

I remember someone telling me about how he passed but spent ages arguing the toss with the examiner about a minor he received... who cares?

Yes, the minors are already totally irrelevant, because...
