Itching to get out.

#1 Post by Fleck » Mon Feb 11, 2019 12:36 pm

Not ridden the bike since errr... Probably November, it's 7°c and sunny. My usual cut off is 10°c but I'm itching to get on it  ... is it too early/cold?

Sod it, I think I'm going to do it 8-) :thumb:

Go for it! Just take it easy to adjust for road conditions and being a little rusty! :D

We're moving soon to somewhere that has a garage with the house and I'm So Excited to get out and about again after this Looong winter.

I've done just under 1200 miles on the new bike since November 20th. Been plenty of good days since then.. Cold, but not unbearable. This week the weather is forecast to be 11c, dry, no wind. Perfect.
The Unicorns are coming.

Yup just go out, just remember tyres are colder so less grip and take longer to warm up if at all.

I had been itching to get out myself, sun was out Saturday morning so I went for it and what a great time I had spending my day blasting around the local countryside!

Thanks mateys, enjoyed that... Did 70, waved at some girls, filtered, bought some fish fingers and everything. The perfect afternoon out. Duke's back in it's shed with the heater on

I thought the same today :D , not going to get it out of the garage for another month though, it’s been advised to only ride at slow speed until the recalls have been done!.

Very few places on public roads in this country where one can do little but go slowly (or rather slower than one would want).

That's probably true for cars but bikes are great. :thumb:

Itchy doesn’t cover it. After having a ride out today in the sunshine I realise the lack of mobike may have tipped me over into evil!
Back to abnormally normal now :D
It’s better than any drug... maybe it is a drug, it produces acute withdrawal symptoms!

“It’s shit. And as soon as I get home I’m going to buy one.”
That was a fellow journalist’s first impression of the BMW R nineT recently. It’s a pretty accurate summary; the R nineT is somewhat ill-mannered by modern motorcycle standards but also instantly, inarguably, infatuatingly wonderful.

How do you actually manage to ride the RGV and not just leaving it ticking over and breathing in the 2 stroke goodness :D.
