Actually managed to fit a mobile support bar to the Strom without the wife's assistance!

Supposed to be a 10 minute job! Took me 2 hours....which included a visit to the hardware shop to replace the bolt I f**k up!

I think I did it OK.........however, if my phone goes bouncing down the road today it may need looking at again!

I thought the left hand side of the Harley needed brightening up so I had these made up to order by Mr Retro Leads of Telford . They've turned out just how I envisaged them . Not bad for £28 and way better looking than Taylor Leads in my opinion .

the ybr developed a leak due to rust(very thin metal and paint), tried to bodge it with some jb weld because my wife is using the bike to commute on, then it started to leak from somewhere else, took it off the road and bought a fuel tank from flea bay, and a new seal for the fuel pump from fowlers.

The job was very easy(Haynes manual does come to hand), the hardest bit was to remove the old tank and siphoning the fuel out from the tank.

Happy days!

The proper way to do this is with a big soldering iron ( not an electric one ) lots of silver solder and then seal it with tank sealant . But there's not much point unless it's a classic restoration .

Ten percent chance of rain they said. Ten. Per. Cent.

I had just (just!!) pulled the rocker cover off when it started, which is a really tight fit and very difficult to put back on too. I might have caught my finger a bit.

Annoyed.

Went for a pootle about and as it was a bit chilly, thought i would put on my base layer top along with a long sleeved top under my jacket, was nice and toasty, will need to get some winter gloves though, just started to feel the cold in my fingers after about an hour nothing uncomfortable or distracting, might have a look at some base layer bottoms next time i'm near Go outdoors, now's the time to start getting kitted out if i'm going to do this winter riding malarky  :thumb:

Went out for a couple hours today. A607 to Melton Mowbray and then on to Grantham. Was tempted to keep going to Skegness but it was a little too chilly without proper thermal gloves!

Went for a great ride around Warwickshire and Oxfordshire . The bike ran better than ever . Was it the new HT leads or was it the colder denser air ? Whatever it was there was a noticeable increase in performance . Roll on Spring . I should really have changed the tyres a few thousand miles ago , so things can only get better . Avon Cobras again I think .

Checked the valve clearances in the rain (10% chance!!). Found 3 were right at the tighter end of the spec and one exhaust was beyond it, so removed the cam chain tensioner in the rain. Removed the cams in the rain. Removed the shims and measured them in the rain. Cursed quite a bit in the rain.

If I swap the shims from the exhausts to the inlets then the ins will be about right but I have to buy a couple of thinner ones for the exhausts. Thankfully they can be had for £2.50 each so no great deal except the Kawasaki's now off the road for at least a week. I wonder if the TRX still works..

The answer was no, the K100 saved the day and the TRX's battery is now on charge

Went to work in the sodding rain. Might have cursed a bit more.
