My bike is currently SORN (actually it's in bits) but my question is if I get it back together it will need an mot, will I have to trailer it to the mot station because it can't be taxed or insured without an mot and I can't ride to the mot station without tax insurance?

As far as I know you must have insurance but tax is not required if you are going to a pre-booked MOT test. You must go straight to the test and back home if it fails.

If it is deemed unroadworthy you should not ride it home. If it passes the MOT you can tax it on your phone straight away. You can insure a bike without an MOT

As above - I've done this with cars when I've finished rebuilding them. You can get it insured (it's ok to be insured without tax but not vice versa), prebook the MOT, then you can legally ride it to the MOT station with no tax or MOT. If you get stopped the police will ring the garage to check the bike is booked in so when you book it make sure they have your reg number your name.

Good luck.
