Does anyone on here have one of these?

Looking for a replacement for the Hornet 900

Test rode a Mt07 few months back, and a BMW G310GS yesterday, neither of them were anything special i thought

Looking for something upright ,good on fuel ,light but powerful ,ish and not over 4k really or cheaper if possible ,and nothing too wide as i use it once or twice a week on a commute in tight traffic

Also woukd be good if it could do a weekend trip to europe

Bit of a big ask,a bike that does almost everything ! ,and doesnt cost a fortune ..

Problem is these days so many diff bikes so many to choose from

Cheers

Content of this letter was submitted by me in response to last months (Nov) ref A bike for Older Riders in MCM (Not Used)

To cover his points kerb side weight 195kg – yes a bit heavier than fancied but….

Seat height 810mm though the bike can easily be lowered using a Lust kit or similar (£60)

Mine has one and its perfect to paddle around the car park forwards or backwards.

Upright style without a severe knee up position

Easily maintain roads speeds and motorways with some spare.

You just have to plan moves a little earlier than just last sec. wind it up

it is a 500 after all not a 1000cc superhypersports

Have just been to Germany for a week with my daughter as pillion – No problem

Motorways 75-80 mph with ease.

200+ miles per tank easily with pillion and 250+ solo

Some protection from elements but easily improved with a few add-ons

Top box and tank bags number dozens and dozens that will fit.

Its a Honda so it has Honda reliability

Its a 500 so sits between V strom 650 and CRF250M

Has ABS - A Centrestand is available

No-One has a completely perfect bike made for them by the factory!! Do They??

We all add bits and bobs to make it personal – however if spending a bit more after the initial purchase is not to his taste try this….

If you check out the CB500x for sale columns you will find loads with all these extras already fitted.

The motor is near indestructible its a Honda – I got mine 3 years ago when my Crossrunner became too heavy and for the same reasons given.

Hope this helps Gerontious ********************************************************* MATT if you want to ask me questions go ahead happy to help if I can.

REMEMBER ALL - This is Just My Opinion - No need to shoot me down in flames with a million reasons why I might be wrong!!!!
